I was brought up to be a Christian and never to question the mysterious ways of God. I am a grown woman now,and I have many questions. My life has been so tragic(no I'm not on a pity party) I'm an only child, lost both parents to cancer, my only child died from cancer in 2001. I see people ,with no belief system what so ever, having a wonderful life. Childern, grandchildern, and lots of friends and they would not trade places with me. I guess my question is" if something bad happens,it's Gods' will praise God, if something good happens, praise God." I'm confused.

It says that "it rains on the just and unjust".... my sense is that such "blessings" occur whether one believes or not. The distribution of pain and suffering has always confused me... why some groups and people suffer so much more than others.

The loss of your child, as you've mentioned in previous questions, must be the most painful experience in life. I have 2 children and nearly lost my son due to tropical diseases, nothing was more frightening, and more importantly, nothing ever put my life into perspective more than these experiences.

Nothing will ever replace the vacuum you feel, the jagged edges of pain and feeling of being stripped, and time may only cause the crisis to wane, but the pain will remain. I lost family and my innocence when I grew up under a dictatorship- and today, 35 years later, I still feel the angst, the dull pain of loss, the sense of being different and having had to live life beneath the surface. I ask... who am I God, to have seen these things? Who am I to have experienced these things? And today, as a psychologist, I am a "wounded healer,"--- I believe I am, as a result of these experiences, so much more compassionate, sensitive, humane, caring and understanding... the better to serve the most severely and persistently mentally ill of our society. And today, I am strangely thankful for these experiences, for they give me the depth, understanding and spiritual richness that allows me to be with those that suffer.

I know at times it can be difficult to see how blessed you really are. You have had some very difficult times in your life. How have you handled these difficult times? It does not matter as much how you deal with all the wonderful blessings the Father gives it matters most how you act when life hurts. Tragedy happens in all our lives. Some (like you) have it harder and then there are some that have it so much more worse than you even do. Don't let hurtful happenings come between you and God. Be a blessing and when bad things happen don't carry weight of it all yourself, God KNOWS you are not able to do it alone. He wants you to come to Him be depend ant upon Him. When it is all too much just praise God for all blessings He gives you, praise God when your happy. When you can't take another step let God take it for you. He is waiting for you.
Also, read Job. Job is the book of wisdom that teaches us how to suffer.
It sucks and I am sorry you have had so much loss in your life. Ask the Lord to show you how to accept your losses and how you can use them to strengthen your faith in Him.
I read Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer, it is a really good book that might help you.
God Bless

I am sorry for the suffering you have endured. The blessings that God has for His children are not necessarily of this world. We will not know the fullness of those blessings until we reach the ultimate goal. God never promised we would live a life free from the tragedies and sufferings of this world, but He promised He would walk with us through them. If you were an unbeliever, those tragedies would have still occurred, yet you would not have a savior who understands our grief to walk with you during those times. We do not understand the whys of God when tragedies come, we simply have the trust and faith that He is good, and all things work together for those who love Him

No, check out godisimaginary.com...you are not being blessed, tested, punished, rewarded, cursed, honored, anointed, purified by fire, cleansed, or any of the other excuses people give for the behavior of 'god'.

Life happens at random to all organisms. Why ask why? Some dogs get great homes to live in, some get hit by cars, some get shot, some get put to sleep and some are homeless. Does god love some more than others? Is god punishing some dogs who don't get long healthy lives? Is god testing the faith of a dog? Is god "blessing" a dog?

Get real! Life just happens to all species and there is no reason for it. You are not being punished, tested, etc. Its unfortunate but life just happens pretty much at random. Some places get rain and others don't get enough...it has nothing to do with religion or god but just a balance of nature.

God doesn't bless, curse, anoint, honor, punish, reward, etc. Only in your mind to try to find a reason. There is NO reason. There is no "master mind". There is no "God" or invisable friend who knows everything.

It is survival of the fittest. Your family has some gene that is not able to survive and it will die out. (My family is also "dying out" as most of the women in my family can't have children and if they do have children, they are weak and quite unable to function in life. My siblings are also dying young and I can't have kids...Is God punishing me??? NO NO NO! Our family is simply growing "extinct" just as all current life forms will eventually die.)

It sounds like your family is doing the same thing...don't sweat it. Everything evolves, progresses and then dies for another group to jump in the ring to progress a little more before they too die.)

Emotionally this is hard to realize but its better to realilze this than to go through life thinking you're not good enough for "god" and that someone is punishing you or that you have a curse on your life. There is no curse, there is not punishment but their is change, movement and evolution. You haven't done anything wrong.

As believers, we are taught to pray for blessings and that is not wrong. that is not to say that God does not also bless unbelievers as well. My opinion is that God wants the unbeliever to see His love for them and he bestowes His blessings on them as evidence of his love. Sometimes it seems that Christians have many struggles that some unbelievers do not face. Perhaps it is that Satan is such a liar that he tempts and tries the lives of Christians to hopefully sway them of their faith or to present the life of a Christian as a waste of time to the unbeliever. That is the biggest lie, for it is the bigger picture that is important. It is not what kind of life we live here( stressed or stress free) that matters but how we come through it.Praising god in the good times is a blessing to Him but praising Him in the midst of strive is a true show of faith and love stronger than any other.( Read the book of Job in the Bible)We are mere humans and cannot fathom the mind of God or why he allows some things to occur and not others. All i know is God loves us all and the reward for accepting Jesus Christ as my saviour will be so great when I pass away and into His kingdom that any torment faced on earth will be of no consequence to me.I have a severely affected child with kabuki syndrome. i DO know torment...but I also know miracle and blessing.I know God loves me even when times are bad.

Check out how millions of christians in Africa live, suffer and die every day. They do get a hell, but not really a lot of support from your handy three-in-one holy spirit. I don't think that even if there would be a god, he's much worth to worship or thank. We are here, he doesn't really seem to care about it and we just have to coop with each other on our tiny space-ship called earth.

You need to read the book of Ephesians, including the last chapter in spiritual warfare.

This is a year that God gives back what the devil stole. So, you need to grow in Gods Word.

Yes, those born of God through faith in Jesus Christ, who abide in Gods love & Word, ask and it shall be given unto them.

Without faith it is impossible to please God, for those who come to God must believe that God Is, and is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him.

Trust & obey, there is no other way to be happy in Jesus is to trust & obey.

In all things give thanks. All things work for the Good for those who trust in God. What the devil meant for destruction, God can turn for good.

The devil hates you, and you need to wake up in the morning to pray in spirit & truth and follow after the spirit throughout the day. You need to renew your mind in the Word of God. I suggest to get a biblical promise book. You can get them at any Christian online or Christian Supply store. Pray Gods positive truth & promises. Don't speak the defeat. The devil will take any negative thing you say & fulfill it for you. But God will take any positive promise from His Word that you say and fulfill it for you. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. If God be for you, who can be against you.

People die early in this life because of own sin, or others sin, or environmental sin. So, sometimes it is the devil who through people cause the early death of innocent & God fearing people. Only because the devil is scared of them. But when one is listening to Gods direction during the day, God directs to not be somewhere at the wrong time, or to not purchase this product at a grocery store, etc. God knows were the bad bacterias or carcinogenic products are. God knows what the devil may plan to wreck on the freeway. The problem is that too often Christians aren't letting God direct their path.

The Lord God does bless those who believe. Those blessings, though, may not be what your definition of "blessing" means. Satan is in the world, don't doubt that, but God has a bigger picture and a bigger and more powerful will that Satan fails to see or understand. The Lord blesses you by getting you through all those things you've suffered and making you stronger. The Lord loves you.

God Bless,
Holly

The fact is, there is no god, so stop worring about if you will be bless if you go to church or not. there are billions of people in the world and it would be impossible for anyone or anything to keep track on all those people. Besides, if there were a god, why would there be so many crimes, violence, rape, killing, pastors molesting young kids, wars in the world and among other bad things? God was made up by men so that people can find it easy to believe in everything but themselves and go to church like slaves would do...

I'm no bible expert, but I do know that everything happens for a reason, good or bad. I started believing and reading the bible, and many good things to happen to me but it also took a tragic event to open my eyes. Just be glad your here and alive, be thank full for what you do have and not what you do not no longer have
