Hows this, you say that you need proof to believe something, thats totally cool. I will not bad mouth your "faith," that's right "faith," in there being no God. I say faith because that's really what it takes to believe that there is no God without actually having proof to back it up.

For those of you who responded to my earlier questions and were wondering how I could ever be so stupid, I will add one more thing (FYI).

I have read Elegant Universe, I actually like the idea of string theory or m-theory to some of you. Please don't assume that because I am saying that the universe was created by God. I am a student at CSULB going in for environmental science and policy and believe in evolution although I belive also that God played the largest part in it.

Please, if you really dont think of it as faith then what is it? How can you believe something without actually having evidence to prove there is no God.

My sister (who is Caucasian) is engaged to an African-American man. I personally have no problem with this, but my mother protests on the basis that God ordered the children of Israel not to marry outside of their group. I always thought that this was because the "outsiders" worshipped Pagan gods, and it was about faith, not color. Does anyone have Bible verses to back up either point of view?

Define "faith". Using the DICTIONARY, please.

Then demonstrate why a lack of a belief in gods is somehow a 'faith position', a 'belief system', or a religion.

Please. I'm getting tired of this new R&S fad.

Ok, so is this the new conversion tactic? Calling Atheism a faith?

I don't believe in the yellow turtle god, does that require faith? NO, there is no evidence of the yellow turtle god, yes there is a nice book with pictures down at the bookstore, and just because 1 billion may or may not worship the yellow turtle god, doesnt make it real.

I do not have faith the yellow turtle god exists, that is, not,

To say atheism is a religion or that atheists require faith, is intellectual suicide.

Christians, give it up please.

You wanna go to mass and church barbeques to pass out your real estate card, admit what it is, a social gathering.

Libel is the source of all God's teachings.

He inspired me to write it as I said. Anyway, it starts off with how God created everything. It started with the great campfire. God roasted marshmallows over the great campfire and as little bits of moten burning marshmallows dropped, they formed the stars. The planets were made from heavenly gobstoppers, and he populated them with Gummi Bears, which evolved into everything you see today.

Concerning his main teachings, God sent his favourite pet, Rover, to earth. Rover was God's only dog, and he was sent to be a guide dog. To guide God's sheeply flock in the right direction. Unfortunately all the other bad religions were dog wardens and put him to sleep because he didn't have a collar. Rover died for us.

Now you can't say any of this is wrong. God inspired me to write Libel, and it is the word of God. All you have to do is read Libel if you don't believe. Fact.
Book 1, Paragraph 1,
"Read and ye shall find eternal truth"

What is THE truth that has affected you the most, or set of truths?
All are welcome to answer, christians, atheists, wiccans, muslims, jewish....you get my drift right?
Don't be vague, be specific
There's no reason to respond to this snidely, and to do so would just prove how petty you are.
List only personal experiences, or "ice cream headache" ephifanies, as I call them
Respond seriously, or just for fun, I don't care.

Reading a question on whether the insane get to heaven, I just had an epiphany.

1) People seem to agree that if you are too insane to understand salvation then you can still get into heaven (invincible ignorance is the theological term).

2) Christians seem to agree that Atheists should believe in god because of the evidence in the bible, in creation, or in other aspects of nature.

3) Pascal's wager would indicate that it would be insane not to believe in the bible.

4) Ergo, Atheists must be insane to maintain their Atheism and, thus, will get into heaven under the "insane, incapable of belief" card. Quod erat demonstrandum

So all you christians can lay off the hellfire and brimstone. We're in and you still have to work at it.

Consider the interrelatedness of everything in the cosmos as it is expressed in many indigenous religions. How do you think the importance of these relationships developed? What spiritual purpose do you think they serve for indigenous peoples?

After WW2, we forced the Emperor of Japan to tell the Japanese that he was not a God. But we allow freaks like Moon Sun Young to proclaim that they are the father of humanity on US soil. People should have the freedom to worship, but when something is an obvious fraud, shouldn't these people be silenced? How can we force the emperor of japan to say such a thing, and allow people on our own soil to defraud emotionally frail people out of their life savings? I admire Christianity, but why are some allowed to get away with blatant fraud?

Question after question I get almost ordered to explain scientific details and even how the universe came to existence. Because the basic assumption seems to be: "if you don't believe a 'god' does everything, you must have an answer for everything that science hasn't figured out yet."

Or even worse, the basic assumption seems to be: "if you don't believe a 'god' does everything, you must have an answer for everything that I refuse to learn about science."

Really, nobody knows how the universe came to existence. Get over it. We are like 6 billion bacterias on a grain of sand on a beach in the pacific, wondering how the beach came to existence. It's silly, really.

An atheist doesn't believe in a god. That's basicly it. Is that really so hard to understand?

WHy are you mocking my religion? AM I not entitled to believe in Libelism, my own faith.

As my God said, at Book 12, paragraph 13 of the Libel, "Lest ye not be a hypocrite, as those who contradict their reflection in the pond shall be reconciled with their reflection in the puddle at the bottom of the Great Well of Pain when the time comes for the flock to be rounded up"

Yet people say I am ignorant, just because I have a different faith. Yes, perhaps my beliefs seem a bit strange to you. But your beliefs are just as absurd to me.

But as God said in Book 2, Paragraph twenty of the Libel, "Blessed are ye that will be mocked for me, insobelieving and through these trials, your name shall be noted, and when the time comes for the rounding up of the flock, thou need not fear of the Great Well of Pain, as it will be full of the heads of your enemies."

If you don't believe me, look at my earlier questions. It's all fact, written in the Libel as the word of God.

that includes all the galaxy, all the gases, all space, all the planets and the stars, everything on earth, and that includes every science you can think of. This is my point of view, and no one will change it. The day someone will go outside of the most remoted galaxy, then we can talk. Even then, I would still believe in God, because he made everything.

if Jesus is the son of God, I can evil the father. i can charge the lord god with murder. the christian relegion states that noone can be perfect. that makes us retarted, we cant help ourselfs we have to sin. now the father looks down at the world and sees that noone can help it and says my son I have a great purpose for U, Im going to buttcher u and nail U to a cross while your crying in aggany, then three more days i'll raise u from the dead, it'll be like a cool show. that will make everyone love me. then jesus says(this is in the word) Father please take this cup from me there has to be ANOTHER way( i don't want to die) (gods silent) but i say hes thinking to himself, I know they can't help but to sin, but I hate U so much Jesus, I want u on the cross, don't worry Jesus i'll bring you back to life again with my great power, after of course I beat u to a pulp. of course Jesus weeps bitterly and goes of to the deciples and says why r u not praying.( to change the murderers mind)

I don't believe they are. I think that if they were and you got that far, you wouldn't be returning. It just seems to me that in order to reach a point where you're seeing loved ones who have passed before you, you would have had to cross over to do that. What do you think?
