Ok, so is this the new conversion tactic? Calling Atheism a faith?
I don't believe in the yellow turtle god, does that require faith? NO, there is no evidence of the yellow turtle god, yes there is a nice book with pictures down at the bookstore, and just because 1 billion may or may not worship the yellow turtle god, doesnt make it real.
I do not have faith the yellow turtle god exists, that is, not,
To say atheism is a religion or that atheists require faith, is intellectual suicide.
Christians, give it up please.
You wanna go to mass and church barbeques to pass out your real estate card, admit what it is, a social gathering.

This is one Christian who doesn't call atheism a religion. Religion is defined as:
Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.
A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship
http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/religion
Atheists don't worship or even acknowledge a Creator, so therefore they cannot be practicing a religion.
And what you see as a "social gathering" is the time that we spend together worshipping our Creator and learning more about Him. It's a lot more than just passing out real estate cards for those of us who love God and acknowledge that He is the sovereign Lord of the universe.

Christians and other bigots like to define the world in their terms, setting up straw horses to joust, when much of their belief system is delusion and superstition. When arguing, Christians would like to neatly fit divergent views into their world. Atheism defined as religion makes sense to them and so does attributing the atheist "faith" to the work of the devil.
Wikipedia, another work of the devil defines "faith" elegantly:
Faith is a belief, trust, or confidence, not based on proof or material evidence, but based fundamentally on volition often associated with a transpersonal relationship with a deity, a higher power, a person, elements of nature, and/or a perception of the human race as a whole. Faith can be placed in a person, inanimate object, state of affairs, proposition or body of propositions such as a religious creed.[1]
Atheism, therefore, is a lock of faith, a lack of confidence in primitive superstition.

The christian religion came about all entirely by a person's faith. that is the main key to Christianity. where do you think you will go after death? or do you think you will become some other, better person?
just imagine, there was no earth, no people, no milky way, no universe, what is there left? where did all of this come from? why are we on earth today?
we are doing good works while living here, and when our time comes, we will live in great eternity that no human now can imagine.
there is no other way to convince a person who believes that 'beliveing is seeing in faith' is suicide.
one day, as you appear before God the most High, you will finally find out.
that is all i have to say for you, my friend.
i pray that you will believe somtime.

Prove the Yellow Turtle God does not exist. Just because he doesn't fit anywhere in your evolution theory. You think by calling it a theory it is not a fantasy. If it is true prove it. If it is not it is a fantasy.

hmm... you have a point. you don't believe in a yellow turtle god, because you didn't see one. but of course, us Christians believe in a GOD - and not a yellow turtle god. get that? anyway, i don't have to explain myself to an atheist who thinks everything that cannot be seen with the naked eye does not exist. i mean, that is why faith is called faith! because it is believing in something that is not seen.

The atheist says that there is no God. That is making a statement of factual knowledge. But has he verified that? Now if you say that you do not BELIEVE there is a God, then it is by definition a faith position.

you're talking to people who believe a book compiled by a bunch of ancient, power-hungry men is THE truth, who don't believe in evolution or global warming, science and history, they'll make up anything they want and try to shove it down our throats as if WE are the ignorant ones. No point even asking them to give up on any of the dumb ideas they try to pass off as true.

Christians are very uncomfortable with free thinking and its sister, atheism. They are so ingrained with life with belief they can't fathom its absence.
