Most polls claim that about 90% of the population belives in GOd. But, When I hear many people say " You only live once " or things similar .... it makes me think that they really don't believe in the afterlife. The afterlife and heaven only seem to be comforting things that many people think of during funerals. Saying things like .... "They're in a better place now .... "

I really believe, through word and action that the majority are really atheists ....... or agnostic . WHat is your opinion ??

When one strips away all the attributes of God, what is left? What is perceptible? I would venture that Love is the only true perception of God that a human being can have, as it is not moderated by insanity (culture/society/parents/religion etc).

If someone said they were god the father, the son, and the holly spirit today they would end up in a mental institution. People who talk to the devil also end up in mental institutions. If someone acted like the Jesus we see in the movies, wouldn’t they end up strapped down to a bed? He claimed to be god, talk to god, and have god as a father. Boy, it sounds like he needs some tranquilizers. I'm not a psychiatrist so I cannot diagnose Jesus. If anyone knows, what medicine would you put him on and what would you diagnose him with.

I've decided to convert to Judaism. I've read LOTS of information on the religion itself and the history of the Jewish people. I'm positive this is what I want to do. I've read about the different types of congregations there are. Orthodox, Reform, Conservative, etc. I'm wondering which should I attend or does it really make a difference? I'm a Black man and I've heard that Reform and Conservative temples are more diverse and welcome converts readily from ALL backgrounds. I hope this doesn't sound silly. I've called a few temples in the area and was very pleased how inviting and nice they seemed. I'm just starting out in this new faith. Also, I have spoken to my wife and son who don't wish to convert but respect my decision to do so. Any advice, guys?

I dont do a lot of the things they do such as smoke weed, have sex, steal (they dont all do that), drink. Im different mentally than them, but they cant see my mind so they wouldnt be able to know that. I see the world differently than they do. I witness to them everyday. My christian friend who comes around (he knows them too) told me that they're not responding to the gospel because they look at me and think "How is he different than us? He's over there lookin' down on us."
I appear judgmental because I just get so frustrated. Everyday they ask me if this is a sin or is that a sin, but they have no intention of changin' their lives. They also say things like they'll never die. I told them that I wish I could see their faces at judgment when they have to answer to God because they think they wont tremble before him. I realized that that wasnt a smart thing to say after I said it. HELP?!?!

Since when did atheism become a religion?
It's got followers.
The members all say what they believe.
The try to recruit others.
I bet they even hold secret meetings in completely commonplace locales.
So why are today's average atheist a member of the atheist religion? You know what I'm talking about... They go about telling you all the reasons God doesn't exist and why not to believe in him and how to lead your life... Atheism means devoid of religion... All these people calling themselves Atheists??? It's a bit retarded because it sounds very circular. If you don't believe in God then you don't need to classify yourself as anything. Just say I don't believe in God and it's that simple. There is no need to "become" an atheist. It's like they are protesting the God. In order to protest something, doesn't it have to exist first?

The point is, everyone can see how stupid atheism has become. It's like any cafeteria religion... If you don't believe in God end of story, you aren't anything.

I was reading the Sunday paper the other day when I saw an article about the the Islamic insurgency in Buddhist Thailand.

Everyday I pick up the paper, either a new Islamic war has started or theres some significant act of Islamic terror that has occured or an existing Islamic conflict has intensified.

Muslims in Thailand are only a tiny tiny minority, but among the majority Buddhists, who are very peaceful (too peaceful), they continue to wage war with astounding success. A couple months ago, the government was usurped by a military coup lead by a Muslim, afterwhich, the Islamic interests were immediately appeased.

The article was addressing the newest wave of Jihadists crossing the border in an attempt to bring down the pagan Buddhist culture like the Taliban did. Of course, Buddhism has nothing to do with paganism, but try explaing that to the world's most ignorant hate-filled self righteous religious freaks.

Whats the solution for global jihad...
