Can ISLAM be pacified?

I was reading the Sunday paper the other day when I saw an article about the the Islamic insurgency in Buddhist Thailand.

Everyday I pick up the paper, either a new Islamic war has started or theres some significant act of Islamic terror that has occured or an existing Islamic conflict has intensified.

Muslims in Thailand are only a tiny tiny minority, but among the majority Buddhists, who are very peaceful (too peaceful), they continue to wage war with astounding success. A couple months ago, the government was usurped by a military coup lead by a Muslim, afterwhich, the Islamic interests were immediately appeased.

The article was addressing the newest wave of Jihadists crossing the border in an attempt to bring down the pagan Buddhist culture like the Taliban did. Of course, Buddhism has nothing to do with paganism, but try explaing that to the world's most ignorant hate-filled self righteous religious freaks.

Whats the solution for global jihad...

You can start by reading the paper regularly to educate yourself about the WORLD.

The Muslim who ran the co was working at the orders of the KING of Thailand to threw away a corrupt government by the testimony of almost everyone else.

As for your claim of a tiny tiny minority, you should check the numbers they are the majority in the less developed SOUTH of Thailand.

Some of the explosions that happened in the south were blamed on the Muslims and then it turned out they did not do it.

I am shocked from your assessment that Jihad has arrived there, they are simply a minority looking for their rights. Most of them don’t know anything about the Quran itself let alone Jihad

The definition of Patience/Tolerance is the
ability to remain internally calm, peaceful, and undisturbed in the face of harm and difficulties in Life. We are given the rare opportunity to demonstrate true peace, patience/tolerance and loving-kindness toward those who do us harm.
We do not hate those who harm us, but just the reverse: practice Patience/Tolernace,
Loving-kindness, and Forgiveness toward those who harm us. We view those who do harm to us as our greatest teachers, for it is they who give us the rare opportunity to bring out our greatest inner qualities.
This is simply the way we think, speak, and act, as well as re-act toward others in life, but this does not make us any better than anyone else. For we all basically want the same thing: to lesson, or end our sufferings/dissatisfactions in life, to acquire a stable peace of mind, and to be Happy.

The fact remains, that we {Humanity) must find our own way to acquire peace of mind, and Happiness.

What is quite helpful is that we all respect the free will of others. This will bring us one step closer to acquiring Peace of Mind.

First, you are mistaken. These are extremists. Typical Muslims do not do that. The real meaning of jihad is not to fight people, it's an internal struggle. If you want to address the problem then you must address the extremists, not the Muslims.

Islam is not the problem. It is the circumstances that these people were brought up in that makes them want to kill, kill, kill. If we could change the circumstances, then we could solve the problem.
