"I think we're in the same position the gay movement was in a few decades ago. There was a need for people to come out. The more people who came out, the more people had the courage to come out. I think that's the case with atheists. They are more numerous than anybody realizes."

Are we like gay people coming out of closets????

Personally I believe that you are either good or bad. I believe evil is real. I believe tha if their were to be a religion, it should be, the church of humanity. I believe the bible is symbolic rather than literal. I believe thar, the bible can be used, to teach the way people should act, should be, and also valubal life lessons. But what I don not understand is how so many people can take there holy book..(that means whatever religion) and take it so literally that they are willing to kill over words written by other human beings. I ean, what is so powerful that so many generations are bamboozeled into believing that they are so right, that there God, and there belief system is worth killing. How hard is it to just be good people? I mean, isn't the bottom line of all religions to do right by yourself and more importantly others.

I have heard his phrase all my life. Where does it originate?

What exactly are you leaping over? Could you take the leap of faith and then later as you mature in your faith come to a realization that you didn't have to make such a big leap?

Can you explain the concept "leap of faith"? I think it sounds nice, and is probably necesarry for a lot of people to really start to come to understanding of WHO God is and really WHO they were created to be.

However, I think sometimes this proverbial leap is used as a scape goat to dealing with real issues. What do you think?

The following 2 websites provide direct quotes from the Q'uran and Hadeeths. Which muslims can easily verify for themselves by referring to their own q'uran and hadeeths.

BUT when you show muslims these quotes, they say we are corrupted. Why??? Is it because the shames of islam are exposed?

PLUS

http://bibleprobe.com/muhammad.htm...

I mean, if muslims say these 2 websites are rubbish and corrupted, then it MUST mean that the Q'uran and the hadeeths are rubbish and corrupted. That's logic right?

Or do muslims also have another way of explaining themselves out of this paradox?

I mean, we even have muslims like Adia Arek and friends that openly denounces the teachings of the q'uran to say that muslims don't have to follow what the q'uran says. AND the guy shamelessly calls himself a muslim? I'm sure allah will punish him for apostasy.

Want to know what the q'uran says? Refer to the above links.

have you noticed how atheists always say they hate christians because they are always bragging about how they are always right and how good they are because they are christian? isnt it ironic that that is exactly the way atheists act when they try to "fight back" a.k.a. they brag a lot about how they think they are superior because they dont believe in anything and try to "convert" people into atheists. how ironic huh? maybe all people regardless of what they are should simply stfu and leave everyone else alone and let them believe whatever they want to believe

I asked earlier about the human appendix being a 'vestigal' organ, and what its purpose is? Was it just a leftover of evolution? None got it right or even acknowleged its purpose? I thought that atheists were smarter than us believers?
All I can say in fairness is "google it" It has a very distinct purpose and is absolutely essential to our survival in our infant development. Can anyone provide me a link to a credible, recent study that says otherwise? And yes I could provide you with some credible links that say otherwise, but dont you think you should find out for yourselves?

I was asked to start another thread.

I was told that JWs are Christian. It is my belief that you must worship Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior in order to be a Christian.

A big part of the JW reason for not worshipping Jesus the way they worship Jehovah, is that they do not believe that Jesus is God in the flesh, rather they believe He is really Michael the archangel sent to earth.

Achtung (I'm quoting you b/c I'm assuming you'll follow me to this thread since you requested it.) said previously:

"Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!"
