i dont beleive in faith, faith says we should follow something we can not see, faith is like the higher level of beleif, sept you can see what you beleive in, i do not see what i have faith in, in phisical terms, i would be walking around a room running into walls, never finding the door.

If your pastor told you the bible says you have to speak in other tongues or you're not saved , thus not going to heaven, wouldn't you manufacture some other language.Maybe not intentionally but the mind can be influenced , can't it?

*how can you do one thing and tell the people that do it also that they are wrong for doing the same thing?(and yes it is in one of your 'codes' it says that you must admit to all sins you have done, so dont say your S&*T dont stink

note: once i saw a man who hade a tatoo and smoked on tv putting down and not welcomeing a gay man to curch

*how can a loving and mercifull god watch others suffer becouse its a consiquence for what adam and eve did? they where just the first two humans.

I made a post criticizing homosexuality and it was deleted (presumably by the admins), yet religion, God, Prophets, and holy books are constantly mocked and ridiculed in the R and S section.

Do people here consider gays more sacred than God?

The basic tenet of Darwin's theory of evolution was survival of the fittest. Yes? Then how do you explain compassion, self-sacrifice, morality, the conscience., the need for justice. None of these are necessary for survival and exist only in humans. In fact they might be on an animal only level be considered a detriment. You don't see a lioness that has just killed her prey having second thoughts and wondering whether or not it was the right thing to do. Nor do you see the relatives of the young antelope that the lioness just had for dinner coming back and demanding retribution.

I've never seen this particular question discussed here so I thought I'd put it out there. Please look past the knee-jerk reaction to yet another questin from yet another believer in creation/intelligent design and think about it.

Serious responses please. NO bashing/insults from EITHER side would be nice.

One of the many things that people in other churches point out to prove that Mormons are wrong is the LDS belief that God is an actual man of flesh and bones.

Many claim that this belief is anthropomorphism at its best, which is defined as those who ascribe human form and characteristics to God. At the Creation, God said, "let us make man in our own image, after our own likeness...male and female created he them." (Genesis 1:26-27)

Thus, there is a difference between God creating humans in His image and anthropomorphism, which means that humans have "ascribed human qualities to their God." After the Fall of Adam & Eve, God said "the man is become as one of us" (Genesis 3:27), meaning that when Adam & Eve (with physical bodies) were created by God in His image, God patterned their bodies after His own.

Following His resurrection, Jesus said "handle me and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." (Luke 24:39) This is Biblical proof of LDS teachings.

a couple people said when you commit suicide, you hurt the people around you and also said, by commiting suicide, you are preventing your true time to leave this earth. but my quesiton is, if you are so depressed and sad and confused and lost about current situations in life, then,ISNT THAT YOUR TIME TO GO? if someone cant handle certain things, maybe cause of a chemical imbalance, then how will one be abe to handle bigger problems and help the world and others(the purpose why God put us on this earth) i can see where suicide is morally wrong, by taking your life, but, as Catholics, we are taught God is forgiving and Jesus gave his life to absolve all sins for man. i admit the main thing stopping me from commiting suicide is not being allowed into the Glory of Heaven. but is suicide so much worse than doing drugs/smoking/drinking and other harmful things to your body when you now your killing yourself like that?
