I made a post criticizing homosexuality and it was deleted (presumably by the admins), yet religion, God, Prophets, and holy books are constantly mocked and ridiculed in the R and S section.

Do people here consider gays more sacred than God?

'we are the damned', mocking what someone worships is not simply crushing what they believe, but it crushes their emotions, and is an attack on their soul.

I consider individual freedoms far more sacred than imaginary friends, yes.

Maybe some do. Who knows.

Homosexuals are actual living, breathing human beings. Crystal clear biological organisms, of which you can prove their existence. Homosexuality is even considered by many to be genetic (I don't have the research to back this claim, I'm not even sure if sufficient amounts of it exist, so we'll just say maybe).

God? hah! Good luck proving God's existence, or divinity, or anything about the Divine. The same goes with prophets and holy books. What makes them prophets? what makes them holy? They are only so if the God they concern is proved real, which is, of course, impossible.

Personally, I believe in the Sacred. I wouldn't consider any sexuality sacred. It's simply a lifestyle, like whether you're a vegan or not (although, the choice thing again...there may not be a choice) But I do consider it worse to rip apart a group of human beings than a vague idea that may or may not exist.

The subject of God is a philosophical debate. There will always be debate about whether God exists, and there will be people mocking both sides. It's part of critical discourse, and how we arrive to the truth.

However, hating on people because of sexual orientation is discrimination. Homophobia in this case. It is wrong, and good for the admins for deleting that junk.

Really, would a loving God want you to hate anybody?

Perhaps the way you worded your post had something to do with why it was deleted. Just a thought since I have seen other posts in the R&S section that were critical of homosexuality. Was your post a question or was it an answer to a question? That could also have something to do with why it was deleted. Usually if the Yahoo administration deletes a question or post it sends an e-mail to you telling you the reasons why it was decided that it should be deleted (sometimes the reasons are vague and sometimes they are very clear). Atleast that has been my brief experience the very few times that anything of mine has been deleted by Yahoo. I can't say too much since it has happened so very rarely to me (only twice), but based on my previous experiences the suggestions I gave here applied to myself and so if it helps I offer them to you as well to look into.

Peace be with you.

There's a famous quote from a pretty well-known book, maybe 150 pages long...It's called something like "To Kill a Mockingbird"...ever heard of it? No? Well, I'm not suprised.

But the quote is, "Before I can live with others, I have to be able to live with myself."

If I'm gay, and some God decided that gay people were the devil, I'd tell him to shove it too. (And I am Gay. I'm just Shinto, so I ignore said god.)

But that's not insulting anyone on a person to person basis.

Now, insults to homosexuality are indeed person to person offenses.

Just watch the way you say things like that, and you should be able to make an argument without being shut down. Atheists do it every day. :P

"mocking what someone worships is not simply crushing what they believe, but it crushes their emotions, and is an attack on their soul" Wow! Is your own faith that weak?

While there may be some who will mock God, I think you'll find that most of the criticism is directed toward self-righteous, holier-than-thou "christian" zealots who have the arrogance to presume to speak on behalf of God. God doesn't like that.

If your question was deleted it means someone reported you...perhaps your question was offensive and broke the TOS?

"Do people here consider gays more sacred than God?" Which God? Really now, god is just a title not a proper name you will have to be more specific. I'm assuming you mean the bible god, no? Obviously Christians respect him more than their fellow human beings who are gay or bi... Myself, I have more respect for my fellow humans than a god that condemns people to an eternity of torment for simply not believing in him.

In reality, I hold neither one as sacred. One is a lifestyle, the other is a fictional entity.

Depends on which side of the fence you choose to be on,or if you are straddling the fence.-- which master you choose to follow or refuse tomake a choice. God or satan? No one, nothing is sacred, only God deserves that title!!

H i Gabe

People do not want a God that they have to obey.

People do not want a God who is right and they are wrong.

"The world by wisdom knew not God."

People only want a God who tells them, "Do whatever you enjoy."
