Colossians 1:15, 16 tells us that Jesus was the "firstborn of all creation" and that everything was created through him and for him.

Matthew 28:18 is Jesus telling us that he has been given all authority in heaven and on earth and Ephesians 1:21 confirms this lofty position he has been given by God.

The definition of Archangel is the highest angel. There can be only one. When 1 Thessalonians says the Lord himself will come with an archangel's voice, are we to understand that the person with the most authority in heaven and on earth would use a voice of less authority to give this commanding call? Absolutely not!! Jesus must BE the Archangel!!

The bible calls Michael the Archangel a prince because it designates his position of authority. You will have to search out the word "prince" in it's Hebrew context. In it's Hebrew context it is in reference to a captain, chief, or head steward. But remember Jesus is a king and Lord over all. The bible said Jesus was raised with all power and authority with the angels in sujection to Him, including Michael. Read Hebrews chapter 1 and 2 for more clarity. Michael is responsible for affairs according to the Jewish people. That' the position of responsibility God has given him. In no way does it mean he is superior to Christ.

In Daniel, Michael contends with the angelic "Prince of Persia" for some two weeks, before he ends the encounter by invoking th name of God.

This passage merely acknowledges the power, authority, and title of Michael the Archangel, who is an angel, and not God, not Jesus, or anyone else.
