I do not believe in hell, the question is hypothetical. Would you suffer in agony for all eternity in place of all of the people that would be going there? I am not asking if you believe in it or not, because I do not, take this question as if it were for a fact a real place.

I was brought up Anglican (Episcopalian). My views are too liberal --even though I think these churches are progressive and inclusive-- because of my ideas on pantheism and I can't deny other religions intereptations of God.

I have been working worldwide gaining insight. I have lived in the East for more than ten years. My fiancee is Islamic. We have plans to move to the U.S.

It seems that liberal quakerism is familiar to my Calvinist (Hugenout ) and Anglican roots without denying the prescense of God in other relgions.

Spread the word not the dogma!

Then why theology says God has no form..?

God is The Truth so, if these big men saw Him looking like a man even if he was more briliant then a man ..having a body of spirit actually, then who is the one who says in theology that God has no form , I want to know his name , to see if it is so great as the names of Isaiah, Daniel,Ezekiel . This man or saint should have seen God or God shoul have told him '' I am your God, the God of Israel and I have no form''.

Daniel saw even Jesus thousand of years before Jesus was born on the Earth and Jesus eyes were described that they are greater then the eyes of a man ..

Also God the Father is described as a having a different body then ours but He is having a body like ours ...even if the spirits are shining ..more beautiful..

Also two of Jesus apostoles Saint John with the Apocalips and Saint Stephan I understood , saw God The Father looking like a man ...and Saint John describes God the Father at Apocalips...

I am doing a research project that involves looking at the trend in society of moving away from traditional religions such as Protestantism and Catholicism towards Buddhism specifically. If you have undergone such a change would you be able to give a brief outline if why you did not feel satisfied with the religion you were raised in and what drew you to Buddhism in particular. Could you also include your age?
Thanks in advance.

It's not like people have never heard of Christianity, which is the biggest religious group that is trying to convert people. It is not like we don't have churches in every town in the free world. It is not like there isn't a Bible in just about every public library. It is not like there isn't an internet with an endless supply of religious websites. It isn't like no one has heard of Christianity or what it means to be a Christian or who Christ was.

I can understand religion trying to conver when a religion is just starting to become popular. But what is the point once everyone knows about it already? Is it that those who try to convert do so because they can't stand having people around with different views and beliefs?

For those of you that don't know: Vash is a character in an old anime. He ALWAYS gave people the chance to change, he NEVER killed out of anger and he tried saving EVERYBODY, every chance he got.

Now, who's better? Vash or God?

The category name clearly says it's open for all belief systems, not just one or two. Yet those one or two belief systems tell everyone else to go elsewhere because they don't fit in.

NO man has seen God! a statement and verse which is quoted most often.
Joseph Smith proclaimed that NO MAN of SIN has seen God.

While most christians quote the first verse it is very clear that Abraham said God and two angels visited him. but then in another place it calls all 3 personages Angels, thus contradicting what the other verse says.
The same thing happens when Moses testifies that He saw God face to face and eye to eye. He clearly saw God, or Jesus, and yet it is written that He only saw his back. as he was leaving. Truly God is not the whirlwind, or seen in the earthquake.
Another testimony declares that Enoch Walked with God. Does this not mean he talked with God too?
How many others that are righteous and holy have seen God?

finally Jesus Promised that if men became obedient not only would HE, jesus, visit a person but God the Father and Jesus would come and eat dinner with them. it is a promise that contradicts the other statement.

I’m not talking about the passing random thoughts that comes from our idle imaginations. I am examining the reoccurring fantasies that people cannot stop if they wanted to. I have fantasized about owning my own business for years. I have fantasized about owning a certain car for about a decade. I have fantasized about traveling across the country by myself and camping along the way. I have fantasized exploring the wilderness and going on expeditions. I have fantasized about learning how to ride a motorcycle. I have fantasized about meeting the right person. And then there are sexual fantasies but I’m not going into that. If you have reoccurring fantasies, do you think that there is something behind that? Why not, some people believe there is meaning behind reoccurring dreams. It seems like the same thing to me. Our minds are fixated on a situation whether it is a dream or a fantasy. Is it our minds trying to create a situation? Is it our minds trying to manifest desires?

Regardless if one is a Christian, a Buddhist, a Hindu, Islamic or Jewish, people find comfort in their beliefs. Many Atheists don't believe in some power apart from the physical and tangible world. Many people, who follow a faith or a belief system, believe in something apart of what is physical and tangible. I'm sure many Atheists can say they are happy but what happens to a person when they encounter a difficult time in their lives. Many people who feel they put their trust in something greater can find support in whatever belief system they have. Many atheists don't believe in a source of power to put their trust in. I believe that many Atheists put all their trust on themselves and their own ability to cope with situations. One time a friend of mine, who didn't believe in an after life, lost a good friend of his in a car accident. He was perplexed at the loss of his close friend. It affected him a great deal. So, if having a form of spirituality allows people to cope?

Is it so hard to respect that the questioner does not want to be converted or told they are making a huge mistake by not following the Christian God simply for the content of the question that was posted?

Christianity is what I'm talking about, that freaking book was sicker then the Saw movies and Hostel combined!

I'm also going off of something I heard once in a movie: the old gods are passing away and the new ones will take their place.

I think it means that we give power to the gods and they're nothing without us and only exist because of us. So, why go for the sickest one to give all your power too?

(2) my dad is a pollygamist and a drug adict so he doesnt bother about paying the school fees and prober upkeep of my brothers and sisters. That responsibilty fell on my shoulders.they are all looking up to me. these children will be in school for the next ten years.
(3)with my current status i can provide for all the basic needs of my family and pay for the school fees of my brothers and sisters but in the end i will have zero savings.
(4) if i refuse to pay their school fees ican save
Should i spend on my relatives to the extent of making me bankrupt
(5) in addition to all the above my dad doesnt seem to appreciate all my efforts. he is not very nice with words.
