NO man has seen God! a statement and verse which is quoted most often.
Joseph Smith proclaimed that NO MAN of SIN has seen God.

While most christians quote the first verse it is very clear that Abraham said God and two angels visited him. but then in another place it calls all 3 personages Angels, thus contradicting what the other verse says.
The same thing happens when Moses testifies that He saw God face to face and eye to eye. He clearly saw God, or Jesus, and yet it is written that He only saw his back. as he was leaving. Truly God is not the whirlwind, or seen in the earthquake.
Another testimony declares that Enoch Walked with God. Does this not mean he talked with God too?
How many others that are righteous and holy have seen God?

finally Jesus Promised that if men became obedient not only would HE, jesus, visit a person but God the Father and Jesus would come and eat dinner with them. it is a promise that contradicts the other statement.

then Joseph Smith testifies, that age 14, went to pray and though there is much controversy, Joseph smith testifies that He saw jesus and God the Father appear, and they answered his questions.
but his testimony doesnt stop there! he saw many early saints appear to him and there are other witnesses to these events as well.
So the verse was changed, either the verse was altered in the first place that NO man can see God, or it was corrected because a man truly testifies that he saw both God and Jesus.
Tradition is a cruel liar and Experience is a wise mans tool of debate.

God is the total of Father Son and Holy Spirit and he has no physical form... so while many did see the form of man as the Son of God no man has seen the whole of God. The Bible gives us what we look for some seek the truth and find it while others seek contradictions and without the spiritual revelation God gives they find contradictions.

The Bible in Genesis chpt. 18 states that the Lord appeared to Abraham and that he saw 3 men. The rest of the passage makes it clear that Abraham bowed to the ground and adresssed only one as "My Lord", which points to a greater figure than the other two. Later the Lord went his way but the other two men went to Sodom, the other two were angels but had the appearance of men (Gen 19:1-.2).
Lot called the angels lords which makes it seem that they were equals. Jesus had to be the 3rd man Abraham met. The clincher is John:8:56-58 where Jesus says that Abraham saw him in his day! Moses saw the back view glory of God but there is no mention of a man being seen so that was God the Father, yet only a part of his glory was shown. No man has seen the Father in His real state and will not this side of heaven. Adam and Eve had dealings with God as did Enoch and many others in the Bible yet nowhere is it written that those people actually saw God the Father.

If Joseph Smith wrote that he saw the Father then you have to either believe him or the Bible because both cannot be true. The Bible is sound and consistant and backed up by history and archeology while there are things Joseph Smith wrote about have no real basis: such as Jesus coming to North America and preaching to certain Indian tribes, which is not verified by history. The Bible shows that Jesus never ministered outside of Israel because He was sent to the nation of Israel and sent disciples to preach to other nations after his resurrection. Stick to the Bible and you will not go wrong.

Looking @ your question did you ever take into account that in the bible and in the book of Mormon when they speak of God sometimes they meant Jesus.

I think that you might be very fixated on wording and do not understand what you are reading.

If I were you I would council with a Bishop and pray about these things and not look for resolve on the internet because it might set a snare in your path. The internet often carries a bad sprit.

Doubt. I will answer you by asking a question.
Have you ever sat down with your belief system faith or knowledge or both and had a talk and allowed your beliefs to have the floor to speak(your in a room by yourself)if you have not done this I have doubts you are human. Everyone does this at some point in time. Would you be considered crazy for doing this?
Each time I have a meal I say a prayer to thank God for what I have in front of me. Thus I talk to God. He also talks to me. through his word. Is he in a chair next to me/NO but his spirit abides with me. God is spirit. If you don't believe it's not possible to talk to God. All things are possible to them that believe--by Faith
Enoch walked with God--don't most christian try to walk with God
moses--saw the GLORY of Gods face--and his face(Moses) reflected the Glory of God for a time after he came down from the mount.
Jesus leads people to a knowledge of Him by Faith
Thus we can walk with him

Every religious book is written and modified according to the needs of time. So mistakes occur. God is a highly evolved alian who visited and helped men in past when the men was not that bad.

Please give the name of Book, Chapter, and Verses concerning your questions. I would be glad to give you my opinion then.
Remember that the Bible was written at different time spans by different authors and their views were specific to their time own time.
If you are the follower of Joseph Smith, then I would be glad to give you my own view point. Please be reminded that Joseph Smith is fake.

It's great that we had and have a latter-day prophet to usher in the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
