Is it so hard to respect that the questioner does not want to be converted or told they are making a huge mistake by not following the Christian God simply for the content of the question that was posted?

Christianity is not the only religion in the world, contrary to popular belief. Every belief system has a right to post here.

Because they think they own this section and that there's is the only religion out there and that their god is the only one people believe in.

Now hold on a minute here,..

Many times, when the "non-Christian query" is posted, they invite our opinion,... "address" it to "Christians". For many of the others, the questions come in the form of a "challenge".

When Christians DO respond what are we SUPPOSED to say/do? Rant, wield insults & cuss? Though some may, it's not what Christians DO. We'll always present our beliefs when challenged by non-believers. Sure it can be seen as an Evengelistic jab, but we're not going to get into a heated debate. We siimply default to Truth.

Why do non-believers get so bent out of shape when we speak of our faith anyway? I've wondered why the articles of our faith are so "offensive" and "objectionable" to non-believers. They become extremely uncomfortable at any mention of Christ, His Death, Burial and Ressurection. The blood atonement for our sins. Could this strong reaction be borne out of some "conviction" in their heart?,.. maybe because there just may be something to this gospell thing of which we speak?

Y'see,.. there we go again,..
You just HAD to ask didn't you??
: )

I think it has to do with pride and control at times.

I dont think conversion was intended by any higher power to completley change peoples lives and force them to submit to another way and think that they were a lower being.

A god that needs that method would be a weak one. Devout peoples of any religion have virtue if they follow a righteous understanding path.

People answer according to their beliefs. A Christian who answers a question here probably won't encourage someone to follow Islam and vice versa.

Your right Christianity is not the only religion in the world, infact it is not a religion but a living relationship between the the believer and God the Father and Jesus Christ. Religion is man's futile attempt to try to please God, this will not work. The only thing we can do to please God is to accept Jesus as our Lord and savior. Because we know this truth, we tell others of the truth so that they too will believe and be saved. I urge you to trust Jesus today, believe me you will not be disappointed.

They do it out of love and concern. Their intentions are good.

I don't think I do it though. I answer the question, and I try to use as much evidence outside of the Bible as I can to do so.

I actually wrote about this in my blog (exactly why Christians try to convert people). You can find it here:

It's the third entry on the page. Hope this helps.

I haven't tried to convert you, that's completely up to you. We as Christians do what Jesus Christ said and spread the gospel. If a person has never heard about Jesus Christ, then how will they have informed decision. What a person chooses is up to them.

It's because they feel that they are doing a favor to Christ and God. They believe that they are getting saved when they save others.

Have you ever thought that it might be troubling you because deep down you suspect that God is real and you don't want to believe it? This is His way of trying to reach your mind and heart------if you did not believe at all------we would not disturb you by trying to help you. Mankind can reach a certain point when Gods spirit will no longer contend with their refusal to turn to him----and if that happens then you won't feel anger or anything else.---These feelings you are experiencing are proof God still loves you!!

Just ask the questions. If I am around I will try to answer if I want to.
