The category name clearly says it's open for all belief systems, not just one or two. Yet those one or two belief systems tell everyone else to go elsewhere because they don't fit in.

Eurotrip, whenever someone posts about a non-Christian topic, they are told to leave the R&S section asap since they "don't belong here" and to go to politics or mythology or anywhere else where they are not disrupting the peace.

You are right - I think that Christian Groups have taken ownership of this area of Yahoo and there fore poeple feel uncomfortable writing about alternative religions such as Pagan or wickan or one of the 1000's of spiritual and religious groups out there. I have posted questions about spirits and the spiritual world and have been told to go away in no uncertain terms because Jesus would not like it. I find the Mythology section more open minded

Disrupting the peace... hehe, I don't see much peace here, even between the Main ones. It's not often I get posts like that, someone telling me to leave... though I see a lot of "If you're a Non, why are you here?" kind of nonsense. Seems to me, it's them who are really having the problem. For some reason, they can't handle us Non's being in here and answering questions. It's the only reason I can see, anyway. Otherwise, they wouldn't care about the challenges some of us Non's put to their religion(s)...

Hehe... I fit in where ever I am at. If others of the group don't like it, they have a choice... ignore me all together or calm down and talk WITH me - not AT me.

While the vast majority of questions posted here are Christian, as a Hindu I have seen many other questions and many other answerers from various religious traditions. Personally I enjoy seeing the other people of various religious traditions posting questions and answering questions that are questions open enough for all of any religious tradition to answer. At the same time you do sometimes get the postings from those who say that you shouldn't post here....but never mind them. Yahoo allows you to post here and unless you've violated the Terms and Agreements of using Yahoo Answers, then please feel free to post questions and to answer questions here. As for fitting in.....oh, that's just overrated. Just be yourself. Who knows, your unique perspective may help several questioners. I have received in the past a few responses from questioners who thanked me for my thoughtful and unique answer....and often stated "and while I don't believe in your religion, your wisdom on this issue was very helpful so thanks." Whether you realize it or not, there are those here in the R&S section that will be very appreciative of your presence, too.

Great question!

Peace be with you.

Malicious little buggers ((((((((Jabs)))))))))) - there's a scourge of them on R+S on the mo. undecided if that's a sparkling religious front or an assimilation of the impressionable and the annoyed. I haven't been on here even a week yet, but I have seen all types of religions here. I myself am Christian and my hope is to spark others into becoming interested in Jesus Christ. He is the only way. I can say that with confidence because I was saved out of the occult. Now I evangelize the lost and those that are week in their faith toward Christ.

There are some people of certain religions who believe they own this category. They are intolerant of any way of thinking that does not correlate with theirs. They think that their beliefs are absolutely right and anyone with differing beliefs is completely wrong. How arrogant, self-righteous and sanctimonious.

Example?
I can see why Church of Scientology, Raelians, Unification (Moonies), and other cults are encouraged to post elsewhere.
There's a proven track record of abuse and blasphemy with these organizations. Granted, blasphemy is in the eye of the beholder, but if you know in advance it's going to piss off a lot of people, why not tell them to go elsewhere?
As long as it is a private system, they can keep out whomever they want!

I think anyone that has a problem with religious postings should go elsewhere. But every belief system is welcome here, so long as they're respectful.

Not sure what you mean, Cinnamon, since I've never noticed that. Could you cite some clear examples to help us understand how to best answer your question?

----- thanks for updating and adding more info

I've never noticed that. Can you find an example and make a link to it? I've just never seen that before.

no way, i have seen tons of religious viewpoints on here. and because of the nature of it they are going to be outspoken about how they feel. don't take it personally. if you ask enough questions and take mental poll, you'll see that the types of people who answer even themselves out.
