One of the many things that people in other churches point out to prove that Mormons are wrong is the LDS belief that God is an actual man of flesh and bones.

Many claim that this belief is anthropomorphism at its best, which is defined as those who ascribe human form and characteristics to God. At the Creation, God said, "let us make man in our own image, after our own likeness...male and female created he them." (Genesis 1:26-27)

Thus, there is a difference between God creating humans in His image and anthropomorphism, which means that humans have "ascribed human qualities to their God." After the Fall of Adam & Eve, God said "the man is become as one of us" (Genesis 3:27), meaning that when Adam & Eve (with physical bodies) were created by God in His image, God patterned their bodies after His own.

Following His resurrection, Jesus said "handle me and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." (Luke 24:39) This is Biblical proof of LDS teachings.

Lover Of God, your interpretation of that verse (Numbers 23:19) is incorrect. Have you read it carefully?

Let me put it out there: "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

When that verse says "God is not a man," the Lord is saying that God is not a man because man has imperfections. God is perfect. While man is created in His image, He is not like man in the sense that he does not sin.

The verse goes on to say "that he should not lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent." Jesus Christ didn't need to repent because he never sinned in the first place. He is the only perfect human being to ever walk the face of the Earth and without sin.

Therefore, God IS a man...He's the Celestial Man who's perfect in every single way imaginable. He's a glorified body.

Of course Jesus has a body that is made of flesh and bones, now glorified to be compatible with the heavenly realm.

But that Jesus is God, co-eternal with the Father and the Holy Spirit, not someone who got that way by evolution, and not someone who is the brother of Satan.

It is in this that the false prophets of the LDS church are revealed.

Your anthropomorphic god is made in the image of man indeed. But at least the Mormons are clear on their belief (unlike the majority of Christians who can’t decide whether their god is bones or spirit and make him one or the other depending on the situation).

Read John 4 Jesus said that God is a "spirit" and spirit does not have a physical body. However, the spiritual realm is more real than our physical realm. We are just shadows compared to things in the heavenly realm. God is not a mist, or ghostly apparition. Even though He is spirit, the bible says that He is more alive than we are.

No, God does not have a physical body (flesh and bones).

Flesh and bones are a creation of God. God does not need anything, which means God does not rely on any of His creations to live/exist.

The bones are in a body to support an organism to stand upright, and the flesh (muscles) are there to move the body, and the heart is there to pump blood throughout the body, etc. These are some things we NEED in order to survive. God does not need them, so there is no reason for God to have them.

God is basically formless. At the same time he can assume any form to assuage the pain of those who rely upon him. Call him by any name. He will answer. It is true that God, the formless principle assume a form to guide the humanity towards eternal truths when they are completely immersed in sensual life and lead immoral ways, usurping others properties, others spouses and indulge in the prohibited ways of life. When money is worshiped as supreme as in the present age, God descend to the earth in a form suited for the purpose. He performs many miracles to attract humanity towards divinity. He even raises people from the dead, restore the sight of blind. He multiply food to feed those whose throng to him. By these bites people follow him and His directions and thereby they are redeemed. nagarajan.

Yes the flesh of Jesus is in heaven. The church is the body of christ on earth.

One teaching does not make the LDS of GOD. For your doctrine is unholy.

Jesus is flesh and bones even now in Heaven, with the wound mark on both arms and ribs when he was nailed to the cross to save you.
