Personally I believe that you are either good or bad. I believe evil is real. I believe tha if their were to be a religion, it should be, the church of humanity. I believe the bible is symbolic rather than literal. I believe thar, the bible can be used, to teach the way people should act, should be, and also valubal life lessons. But what I don not understand is how so many people can take there holy book..(that means whatever religion) and take it so literally that they are willing to kill over words written by other human beings. I ean, what is so powerful that so many generations are bamboozeled into believing that they are so right, that there God, and there belief system is worth killing. How hard is it to just be good people? I mean, isn't the bottom line of all religions to do right by yourself and more importantly others.

OK, IM sorry I used killing as an example. And as I said a believe peoples bibles can teach life lessons. I did say that. What I am asking is why, does it have to be taken so literally and why are people willing to go all out for words that human beings wrote. Also, Why is it so hard to just be humane. Im sorry someone thought I was saying that people who believe in their God or Word are bad, I wasnt saying that. And when I say i believe that some people are just evil... I believe some people are humane ..and some people are ..not capable for whatever reason..there are things that we all .no matter what faith ..agree to be dispicable..when we are all in our homes and the ten oclock news comes on..regardless of religion..most of us are on the verge of tears or throwing up..that is the power of good and humanity no matter what religion. Dont call me a non believer, I DO BELIEVE IN JUST BEING GOOD TO EVERBODY, HOW CAN ANYONE FIND WRONG IN THAT

It would be great if it where that easy! I also believe that we are good people, and that alot of sins are practically common sense! I do not practice religion. But I do believe we need it!
If some people believe there are no repercussions for there acts there may be chaos! its sad but most people are followers.
And the second reason I believe we need religion is because it has done ALOT of people good. I have known people who have gotten out of depression, or similar stuff after picking up some holy book.
The fact that people have killed over there religion is sad, but to tell you the truth I think they just used religion as an excuse to kill. If there wasn't religion they would have just came up with another excuse.

All religions are NOT equal... there is one that stands head and shoulders above all the others not just as a philosophy, but more than that it is the only one that has prophesied the leader of it, into it, hundreds of years before he came... When all is said and done, the true God will be revealed (some of us know who it is already) and every eye will see, and every knee will bow to Jesus the King of kings and Messiah of the whole human race, to all who will believe in Him. He is the true God.
So when He finally returns to earth one day, it will be like no religions almost because all OTHER religions will be shown to be only man's creations.

no, based on your long rant u missed the fact that multitudes of religious people are in fact good people who DO NOT condone killing and SO WHAT they believe in the Bible???? THis affects you how? You're calling these good people who follow the values YOU say you agree with to be bamboozled as if u have empirical evidence on your side???? You wish everyone would just drop their bibles and stop believing in an instant and the world would be a better place...but oh ...use the bible to teach morals by the way...

I think organized religion SHOULD be abolished because most of the organized religions in the world are racist, biased, bigoted, gossipers, whiners and a lot of other things. I think a person can have a relationship with God a lot better without organized religion. It's the organizations themselves that cause all the trouble, not the belief in God.

I hear unrealistic coming from you, the realist. Realism is your religion and you want to abolish religion. Then what would you believe in? You may be able to make yourself be good, but it won't be good enough. In the end, you will be knowing reality. That God is the ruler of humanity, the creator, the savior, and the terminator.

In saying you believe 'evil' is real, then you must explain what 'evil' is.
If you mean "morally reprehensible", then you must also explain what morals were not being followed and why those 'morals' are more impotant than what other people think morals should be.
See?? The point is you are saying stuff without thinking about it, not defining what is good and what is evil.
Whereas, poeple who follow God have a clear understanding of what is good and evil.

Satan would love it if you were to succeed in your goal of eliminating all religious belief. And no, the "bottom line" of all religions is not "to do right by yourself and others". The bottom line is to do right by God.
Even if you look at the teachings to "love (insert whatever group here)", you have to recognize this - If I am in possession of the understanding of how to get to heaven, and that getting there is THE ultimate goal for all of humanity, the best way for me to show you love, and "to do right by you" is for me to try to get you to understand it too. That would be pretty crappy of me if I believed I knew the answer to the most important problem in the world, and then acted all politically correct and kept it to myself......

You don't understand.
Yes, some false 'religions' teach killing. The Bible does not.
And, yes, war is justified.
The world you are talking about is yet to come.
