The passages in Leviticus (18:22 and 20:13), understood IN THE CONTEXT of the time and place, are not an admonishment against loving sexual relationships between people of the same sex but instead against sex as a form of domination and control. Besides, these passages are part of the Holiness Code which is not binding to modern day Christians (or anyone else for that matter).

Hermeneutics; At the time that the books of the Law were written they certainly did apply to Israel, there were no Christians at the time. But these books along with rest of the O.T. { First Covenant } are necessary to educate us on how things were begun, Prophecy, etc. Christians of today learn how the development of our faith progressed through the centuries from Genesis 1:1 " In the Beginning God Created the Heavens and the Earth." all the way through to the times of Jesus and our Salvation through faith. Ephesians 2:8 " It is by Grace through faith that you have been saved, this not from yourselves it is a gift of God." Romans 13:10 " Love does no harm to it's neighbor therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law."

I doubt very much that you want to hear the truth, but it's telling the Levites to not have Temple sex. Leviticus is a book of laws for the Levites, but no one wants to hear that, although it can easily be verified.

The sons of Levi were set apart to perform the holy service. It is an affirmative command for the Levites to be available and prepared to serve in the Temple. The role and laws of the Levites and the Kohanim (who are sometimes called Levites by the Torah) is discussed by Maimonides in his section concerning the vessels of the Temple. A Levite is a holy vessel. The ideal of each Levite is to be doing holy service, the ultimate of which is the Service in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

Some of the other laws were:

Don't let cattle graze with other kinds of Cattle (Leviticus 19:19)

Don't have a variety of crops on the same field. (Leviticus 19:19)

Don't wear clothes made of more than one fabric (Leviticus 19:19)

Don't cut your hair nor shave. (Leviticus 19:27)

Any person who curseth his mother or father, must be killed. (Leviticus 20:9)

If a man cheats on his wife, or vise versa, both the man and the woman must die. (Leviticus 20:10).

TRY...

1Corinthians 6:9 Don’t you know that evil people will not receive God’s kingdom? Don’t be fooled. Those who commit sexual sins will not receive the kingdom. Neither will those who worship statues of gods or commit adultery. Neither will men who are prostitutes or who commit homosexual acts. 10 Neither will thieves or those who always want more and more. Neither will those who are often drunk or tell lies or cheat. People who live like that will not receive God’s kingdom. 11 SOME OF YOU USED TO DO THOSE THINGS. But your sins were washed away. You were made holy. You were made right with God. All of that was done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

SOME OF YOU USED TO DO THOSE THINGS…

BUT, Not because it is in the law...

Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an END to the LAW WITH ALL ITS COMMANDS AND RULES. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.

Colossians 2:14 He wiped out the written Law with its rules. The Law was against us. It opposed us. He took it away and nailed it to the cross.

Galatians 2:16 ...No one can be made right with God by obeying the law.

Galatians 2:21 ...What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!

Galatians 5:4 Some of you are trying to be made right with God by obeying the law. You have been separated from Christ. You have fallen away from God’s grace... The ONLY verse that talks about falling from grace, and they did it by trying to follow the law!

Jesus said he didn’t come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. (Matt 5:17) The effect was the same. Once fulfilled it was no longer in effect. The very next verse, Matthew 5:18, looks forward to the time when the law would be set aside. "...Not even the smallest stroke of a pen will disappear from the Law UNTIL EVERYTHING IS COMPLETED." IF the law were intended to be permanent, the "UNTIL..." clause would be meaningless.

On the cross, Jesus' last recorded saying, "It is finished," is an important milestone. Because of Jesus life, Satan had been defeated. The law was finished and would no longer stand between God and mankind.

The 10 commandments along with the rest of the law ("commands and rules" from Ephesians 2:15) were "set aside" when they were fulfilled or completed at Jesus' resurrection. We are no longer bound by that law.

It says that male homosexuality is wrong but female homosexuality is OK ?
Seriously ; If you're going to take Leviticus to heart you need go to WalMart and buy two complete sets of dishes, flatware and pots and pans.
OK
Since I just set a personal best record by receiving enough "thumbs down "to send a gladiator to hell , allow me to add this concept:
Even if you are right , the prohibition on homosexuality only applies to believers it does not apply to non-believers in any way at all .
The proof is easy and straight forward.
It's about 800 miles from Jerusalem to Athens, a distance that God should have no diificulty traversing
The incredible culture that the Greeks developed allowed for homosexuality . It did not hurt their culture . The Greeks basically invented Western Civiization and all us still benefit from what they created.
God could have very easily punished the Greeks for their sexual mores and their polytheism. He did not because the Greeks were not his people therefore his laws did not apply.
That is the gist of the argument and why many people get really mad at activist, radical right wing Christians; They try to apply the rules of their club to non-members.

It means that it is wrong to be in a homosexual relationship.

Think of how God reacted to Sodom and Gomorrha & all the wickedness, which included homosexuality. (The word sodomy was derived from the name of the city of Sodom.)
God sent hail & fire from the sky & TOTALLY destroyed those 2 cities because of their wickedness.
The Bible states in other places that homsexualtiy is wrong and that unless a person repents of that lifestyle & follows Christ, he/she will not be allowed in Heaven, when his/her life on Earth is through.
I can only report the TRUTH & that is what the Bible says.

Well it says do not lie with a man as with a woman.

The Hebrew term lie is šakab.

The term occurs 275 times in the Old Testament.

8886 שָׁכַב (shakab): v.; ≡ Str 7901; TWOT 2381—1. LN 17.26-17.28 (qal) lie down, i.e., be or become in a horizontal position (Jdg 5:27); (hif) make lie down or over, place in a horizontal position (2Sa 8:2; 1Ki 3:20(2×); 17:19; 2Ki 4:21; 2Ch 16:14; Job 38:37+); (hof) lying, be laid down (2Ki 4:32; Eze 32:19, 32+); 2. LN 23.78-23.87 (qal) rest, sleep, be in a state of inactivity either awake and resting, or in a sleep state, usually in a horizontal position on a bed or mat (Lev 14:47; Pr 6:10; 2Sa 11:13), note: in some contexts this “rest” can refer to a death state; (hif) lie down in rest (Hos 2:20+); 3. LN 23.61-23.65 (qal) lie with, sleep with, i.e., have sexual intercourse (either proper, improper, or forbidden), as a figurative extension of being in a horizontal position, or going to bed to rest (Ge 19:32); (nif) be slept with (Isa 13:16 Q; Zec 14:2 Q+); (pual) be slept with (Jer 3:2 Q+), note: for Dt 28:30 K; Isa 13:16 K; Zec 14:2 K; Jer 3:2 K, see 8711

So most likely do not have sexual intercourse with a man if you are a man.

It means that a man is not to have a sexual relationship with another man. The Hebrew word shakab is used here which means "sexual connection" and the word mishkab means "carnal intercourse". If you study the Hebrew out you'll get the full meaning.
