I can't believe in any of these people. I've been to 4 in the last six odd years. I was feeling upset about the death of my Dad and wanted to find out something about the afterlife. I was not in a good frame of mind at the time. Infact, I feel like I've woken up now and wonder why I even went, that's how zombified I was at the time. They pray on people like that I think. The 3 main reasons I can't trust them is that:

1. All of the supposedly reputable ones I went to did the old,
"I can see a G"
"no"
"...er maybe its a P?"
"no"
"Er..*fluff, fluff, fluff*"

2. I told them all of my family were well and not one of them said anything about my Dad being dead. One even said he'd bought a new mower or garden impliment recently because I accidently on purpose said he liked gardening!

3. Generally too vague,
"I see you have a sister"
"no"
"no, you're right, it's a brother"
"yes"
"and you're the oldest?"
"no"
"Why are you protective then?"

Er...because I love him?!!??

Do you believe in God? Are you a being of faith, relying on God even when science says your wrong? Or are you a being of science, seeing the tangible evidence before you, never seeking out the possibility that God does things through science? Just trying to understand some of your stances.

We are looking for lively classical music for a funeral next week. We want something solemn but joyful to accompany the catholic ceremony. Any ideas?

I've been reading about this and several of the thinkers who were determinists struggled with depression and existential crises because they thought determinism rendered their lives impotent and purposeless. In my experience as well, in college classrooms or conversations where this debate comes up, the people who lean more towards determinism don't seem as happy as those who lean towards free will. However, I often find that determinists are better at logically defending their position than the free will people. Do you think this is a common thing? Do you think determism is just too depressing for many people to believe in?

why do you (christians) deny what is written in your book?

That's interesting.

Why is that?

We spay and throw out dogs onto the streets, yet give government money and housing to those who plot 9/11 and let them procreate.

Go figure.

There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed who says that thunder is the voice of an angel who is driving clouds with his whip to where god wants.

Say I have a cryogenized human embryo:

If I slice it in two, each resulting half may be implanted into a womb and develop into a baby (this currently happens with the cattle that you eat).

So, for each slice I cut, will God send a soul? Or will each slice receive so much of a soul?

Ergo: If God sends a soul for every time I cut a slice off, am I ruling over God, commanding him to send as many souls as slices I cut?

And if otherwise I'm cutting up a single SOUL, does that mean that the fully grown individuals will possess a partial soul?

It doesn't make sense to me. The Bible says Earth is only 6,000 years old. Is Paleontology just an attack on God?

This is probably the third most important question one could ask, regarding the origins of things...after, "Where did God come from?" and "Where did Self come from?".

If God is the First Being to Exist, then everything that came into existence "after" Him necessarily came "from" Him. If all that exists came from God, then all that exists tells us something of God...about the Nature of God.

If the "devil" exists, what does his existence tell us about God? And what does the "devil's" existence tell us about Self, since Self was created in the Image and Likeness of God? Where did the Devil come "from", and why did God cause or allow "devil" to come forth?

I love her sooooo much but she is gone now. I don't know if i'm ready for another close relationship, but i don't wanna pass up something potentially wonderful because i can't "let go" of the past. This new girl is kind, funny and stunningly pretty. What is the best way for me to approach a new relationship after losing the love of a life time? i don't want to hurt anybody or get hurt in this process. has anyone else dealt with this first hand? what is "too soon" to move on???

God knows everything and Jesus is God, therefore Jesus must know everything. Yet Jesus is shown in Mark 13:32 as not knowing something. If you say that God can temporarily limit his own omniscience, how to you reconcile that with the bible saying god is unchanging?

Mark 13:32
But of that day and [that] hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

For those who saw this special: There were several reinactments of supposed events in Jesus' life. Simcha Jacobovici stated in an interview that he wanted him to look as close to reality as possible. However, is this correct? The actor, to me, appeared to be a modern Jew, like what one might see in an American Temple. He appeared somewhat caucasian looking. Also, he was depicted wearing a kippa, but wasn't this a later addition in Judaism?
