It's just gruesome with the blood sacrificing and burnt offerings.
Is it just the smell that god likes, or is it the act of killing something for him that he likes?

when they are the further thing from it?

Christians don't believe they become gods when they die, get to choose their own Jesus Christ, believe an angel appeared to their founder as a white salamader (THAT was funny), say there are golden templates that the angel gave them outlining their religion, have the founder say a special stone allowed him to read the pages while his wife translated his gibberish...it doesn't add up.

Why do mormons say this when they have more in common with scientology than Christianity!

I hear people say things like " The Truth of Jesus Christ " and stuff like that all the time. But is it the Truth? Do they know it because they feel it? Do they feel it because they know it?

I tend to use the word Truth differantly.

I can have Faith that my car will get me to work today.
I can Believe that my car will get me to work today.
I will not KNOW that my car will get me to work today until it actually gets me to work.

And thats the Truth.

Just a follow up from this question,

Someone made the ad hominem attack that I am somehow promoteing that everyone being a gay abortionist.

So my question is, how is me being pro-choice mean I also think everyone should change professions? Also, if I am stateing I am for gay-marriage, how does it link to me wanting everyone to stop being a heterosexual and be a homosexual?

Is it really a legitimate answer? Abortion has been legal in America since 1972. In 25 years has the workforce shifted to being 100% abortionists?

Since June of 2003 when the Supreme Court said government can't fine anyone for homosexual activity, has 100% of the American population marched to a gay bar in search of a one night stand?

I'm only asking because I'm wondering if that position could be represented with an intelligence and not ad hominem attacks.

What is Agnosticism? What's an Agnostic? Now keep in mind that I am Agnostic. But let's pretend that I wasn't and I didn't know about what Agnosticism or an Agnostic is? How would you go about explaining it in your own words?

Please donot copy and paste this from Wikipedia or any online dictionaries. 10 points to the person who can best describe the two questions in their own words. And if I forgot any religious groups you are free to answer the question as well. This is mostly for people who claim a religion.

Seems to me pretty unlikely that most of the events actually transpired, and more likely that a buddy of aesop thought he'd write some stories too.

Apparently many new dollar coins were recently struck without the phrase, "In God We Trust." Is this yet one more sign of end-times? Wasn't this prophesied somewhere? I just hope the number wasn't divisible by 666.

Micah 3:11-12 tells us---"Her heads judge for a bribe, Her priests teach for pay, And her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean on the LORD, and say, “Is not the LORD among us? No harm can come upon us.” Therefore because of you, Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, And the mountain of the temple like the bare hills of the forest."

In my faith, there is no paid clergy--all have secular jobs to support themselves and their families They teach us for free, for they themselves received the "good news" of God's Kingdom for free.

I know that bible-literalist, Christian fundamentalists believe that the Earth is only 6000 years old. Do you also believe that the Milky Way Galaxy and the rest of the known Universe is also only 6000 years old?

I'm not trying to be argumentative here. I really like to know. Do you believe that the entire Universe was created at the same time Earth was created as described in Genesis?

This doesn't make sense because I never did anything wrong. (Well one time I did take a few marbles from my brother's bucket, but that was when I was eight years old, and besides he took those marbles from my stash.) Anyways, I refused to be called a sinner because I'm not one.

K, just a secong ago I asked this question,
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AglpQfFaAcm8YHxeWcLzlUTd7BR.?qid=20070307114206AAXMO50

Some people state in their answers that if we allow gay marriage that its possible people might want to marry their sheep or their goats.

Did you know before women were given the right to vote in America that one of the arguements against this was that then next thing we would do would be to give the right to vote to cows and pigs?

My question is, when you went to go vote in the last election, were their any chickens? Any cows or pigs or sheep or goats in line with their voter registration card? Why do you think that is, there weren't any cows or chickens or hens, not one single cow was in line was there?

I'm only asking cause you know, I'm a big fan of things that make sense, telling gay people no you can't get married cause someone might marry their sheep, well, just sounds like people from the anti-women vote movement.
