God wanted the people see Lazarus come out of the grave when He called him. When He did this He strengthened their faith. God does things to Christians just to strengthen our faith. With great faith much can be done. Doubting is a double minded person and almost useless.

Have you ever heard this scripture?
Matthew 5:45
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
So, rain falls on us all. Jesus did raise Lasarus from the dead and he went to heaven later.

he used him to show the wonderful miracles he perfromed before he asceneded to Heaven. It also proved to Martha that he could raise her brother form the dead after he had been dead 4-days, I believe Martha needed it more than anyone, becasue she ran to Jesus and said He 's been dead 4-days, why didn;t you come when we asked earlier. I t may have been a weakness in Martha he had to show her something. Who knows - that's my best guess. He does things all the time, and later I see the resaon why it happened the way it did. Then I get it, and the little message he attacthes to it.
