They told me about the flood when I was a kid but they glossed over the fact that people actually got killed. It wasn't something you really considered.

I didn't mean "killing people from the church". I meant how many learned from their church that he killed people.

This is something they teach in church. Thing is, when God kills someone, it's because it's in His will. During the flood and all that, I guess a lot of people went to Hell, but were released by Jesus (the ones who died in hope) anyway. God is the fair judge.

You need to lay off the drugs and try living in the real world for awhile. If you truly want to know about God, then quit thinking you already know all you need to know and dismiss the possibility there is a God. Find a good Christian church (I would suggest Catholic Church ) and study what they believe. Then and only then could you make an informed decision about what true FAITH is all about. I could certainly interpret it that way! How old? Too old to have just discovered that particular contradiction. That's exactly what happens when the other Christians tell me that God has healed them, yet I have experienced being healed myself. I don't know why God would not want us to think about it though. I have found no answers so I take man's findings as thoroughly interesting. @80)

My God doesn't kill people so I never learned that in church.

I learned of the bible god at about 14. A god like that made no sense to me then and still doesn't.

I was a child when I learned about Noah, but they focused more on him saving the animals. I think I was a teenager when I learned about the firstborn thing but they didn't focus on it. It wasn't until I read the Bible myself that I realized just how many other times God killed people.

My church told of GOD ordering killings in the Old Testament. However, if you don't read the new testament you will never know why he stopped. Thank you and may GOD bless.

Yes they were a couple..I can't not spell their name...
They came in and LIED to the HOLY GHOST...thinking geeech...I am just lieing to Peter......wrong. They dead DEAD then and there...ooops see...I forgot that part.

And the sad story is....it was theirs to do or not do....no one in the church told them to...they just decided to lie.
A lie is a very bad thing.

We studied both Old and New Testament scriptures. We learned about the wicked being punished and destroyed.
Noah and Jerico were favorite bible stories.

Well, I learned it there (the 10th plague), but we sure didn't dwell on the actual implications of it.

"God slaughtered every 1st born baby and child in all of Egypt to change one man's mind!! Oh and he hardened that man's heart before he did so!! Can I get an amen!?!?"
