It's just gruesome with the blood sacrificing and burnt offerings.
Is it just the smell that god likes, or is it the act of killing something for him that he likes?

Hey ray - great 'cause I'm no genius. So, for you it's that god loves life when it's taken. Ok, thanks for the input.

2cents - yes, christians glorify the human sacrifice of Jesus. That's part of what I was asking about.
Thanks.

Somebody posted something of interest in response to one of my earlier questions about God washing his feet with the blood of the unrighteous or something.
Perhaps he stepped in something?
Edit: I found something else. Jesus needs the blood to dye his dress
Revelation 19
11I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."[a] He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

It's the act of showing faith and obedience by sacrificing something that has value that God likes. He likes it because it helps those who do it to come closer to Him and as a result, have joy in this life and in the life to come.
Additionally, the act of blood sacrifice was a "type" or symbol of the sacrifice that Jesus would make for all mankind.

I don,t no exactly why all the blood but what I think it is if you want something you have to give up some thing that is worth something and what is more precious to us than blood it,s life and you will see this through out the bible and yes the smell of a burnt offering is a sweet smell to the Lord

The animal blood was just getting us ready for the final sacrifice which was done once and for all times when Jesus Christ went to the Cross of Calvary and shed His blood for you and me.
Jesus Christ said "It is finished." No more blood sacrifice will ever be needed ever again. Regardless of what the Jewish people think, Jesus' blood was the final sacrifice for forgiveness of sin. John the Baptist said, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world."

People ate the meat after the sacrifice. It was not for the blood, God needed no blood. God wanted people to do what He asked them to do. He provided the prefect sacrifice in Christ, no sacrificed animals needed anymore. : )

Actually, Jesus offered Himself as a sacrifice. Second, you can easily get the reason for that from the Bible (and likely already have), so what are you really asking?

Another silly tradition, they think the life is on the blood so that makes it sacred since we can't survive without blood. We also can't survive without a liver, or lungs, or brain but god doesn't want that poured on the ground
Go figure...

God does not take any joy in the killing. Blood is the symbol of life. So the offering of the blood of the animals symbolized the offering of the life of the person.
But all of that ended in Jesus who gave Himself in our place.

It's the life force released in the act of killing and the fear, rage, etc. that goes with it.
