I asked earlier whether men have one fewer ribs than women. (Click below.)

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai2Sj83gmnQqCBp45nnrJBnsy6IX?qid=20070302145040AA7PTUC

The actual answer is False. Men and women each have 12 sets of ribs, 24 total.

However, 9 out of 33 (27%) answerers said that men have fewer ribs. (One poor soul even stated categorically that women had more ribs so they could endure having men on top during sex.) The only possible source of this misinformation is the Bible.

What do you speculate led to this poor showing: Bad biology teaching or churches encouraging parshioners to treat the Bible as a science book?

Had the religion you converted to been drawing you since you were young? Or was it new to you shortly before conversion? I am not poking fun, I am only interested.

I'm not really looking for answers from those who have converted to or from atheism.

I met someone who invited me to a prayer group, well, Ive gone to some of this prayer groups and I feel uncomforable, they "speak in tongues," fall to the floor after people pray and impose hands on them, think that everything that goes wrong is the evil (including medical errors), supposedly have visions, think that their religion is the only one that is right, all they talk about is God (there are no other topics of conversation), they try to control me by telling me what I am suppsoed to do (they told me I gotta put a religious name to my daughter), I am new in the place I live in so in a desperate need to have friends I have socialized with them, but now I feel like they wont let me alone, they call me frequently, if I dont show up for some of their meetings they say "I abandonded them," I am kinda glad I am in an apartment because sooner or later me and my husband will move away from here, I know all of what they say is not complety crazy but in general I dont feel is healthy.

When you lost your faith, did your heart immeadiately fill with joy and a peace that passes all understanding?

Did you fall to your knees and thank logic and reason for being so merciful and good to you?

Did you become more fulfilled with your spirituality?

Just curious

(I've asked something similar to this before)

This has happen times before, I guess they want to communicate. I can communicate better if I am more awake and ready for them. I felt my blanket moving off me, I knew what was going on, although, I was very sleepy, I think I ask it who are you. then my blanket was up in the air, I had to grab it and pull it down.

Even when I was younger child, I fell to sleep on the coffee table in the living room, I woke up, and my mother was not far off, just looking at me funny, I said why are you looking at me like that, she said, that my blanket was floating over me, I don't think I had a blanket when I fell to sleep.
Sometimes it's my spirit guide, and other times it's others.

I don't mean to criticize Christianity out of hatred. I only criticize Christianity from a logical scientific point of view. You are welcomed to criticize my views all you want. Is criticizing Christianity a sin in your eyes?

Is it that some not all but some don't want to accept that it's possible that some people were Christians but no longer are? Why is it so hard for some to accept that not everybody wants to be a Christian or a part of Christianity? Why are Christians different from each other? Why are some Fundamentalist aka Evangelicals, and some are Liberal? Also what parts of Christianity are Fundamental aka Evangelical and which parts are Liberal? If you can leave a link for the last part of my question I would appreciate it. Thanks.

why did he not send messengers to far reaches around the same time the bible takes place and avoid bloodshed? Wouldn't that have been better than allowing murder and torture of those he chose not to let hear his words?

When I was a christian, I was taught all about the self-centered goal of making it to heaven and was taught over and over again to judge others (despite the fact that there was massive delusion and denial that I was taught only 'love'). When I finally got rid of all that garbage, I felt better.

Death is a part of life and there is mourning invloved. My dad has had a series of strokes due to type 2 diabetes, he is very complaint with the doctors and follows his diet. He will be 73 soon and he is not what he used to be, he has slowed down a lot and because of the strokes there was damage in his tongue muscles, and I have noticed that he is getting frail and little by little fading away. It is only a matter of time before he passes away. I live very far away from my dad. I call him and I write him letters and he is my prizefighter and my angel from heaven that God sent to me He is such an inspiration to me.

My question is how do I come to terms when the time does come. How can I make sure I stay strong and dont relapse ( I have a mental condition) What are good ways to get through the mourning, and how do I go on. This has been really boethering me latley so I thought I would ask this question.
