correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard a JW friend say that he died for only some sins - if so, which ones?

Jesus didn't have sins so he was perfect. Adam was perfect, but sinned and we all inherited sin from him. In order for us to be forgiven for our sins Jesus died for us as a ransom "sacrifice for ALL sinners." Romans 5:8

1) Jesus died for mankind because all of us have sinned. THere is no certain or specific sin that Jesus died for. 2)Jesus was not a sinner. He was a perfect man. So, he did not die for his OWN sin but for ours.

When mankind sinned they as it were pulled the plug on life, the natural results of sin is death He died for the sins of the whole world that whosoever should BE-LIVE in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. christians believe christ did not commit sin, so he did not die for his sins, but for others. he had to die, it was meant to be that way. it was God's plan and Jesus knew ahead of time this was how things were going to be. It was his fait and he was put on this earth for that reason, same as Mary was picked for the purpose of being his mother and Moses was picked to lead the Jews to Israel, etc.

I never understood this claim. The more I hear he died for our sins the more, it sounds man made. But, who knows.
Would God need to nail him self to a wooden Cross? Just sounds to man made to me.

He died for his own sins and people should own up to their own sins instead of blaming others and saying that they should not be punished because Jesus died for their sins..
