It's an inconvenient truth, I think. :-)
No, seriously, it's normal for most people to revert to religion when they are in trouble. Once the problem is solved, they all forget about it until they run into trouble again.

Some people who call themselves Christians tend to see God as a last resort. If they had followed God's leading first then most likely they wouldn't have gotten in their mess to begin with. Then on the other hand there's people like George Muller. He never asked God or man for a dime. He prayed for all his needs and God provided. He was a common man just like us who ran orphanages all over England with no financial backing from anywhere.

yes tha is true some people do use it as a last resort but as Christians we should try not to be in debt and first pray to be in the will of God there is nothing wrong with praying for financial success but if thats all you do than we and God def knows were your heart is at also the apostle paul taught if you do not work than you do not eat so work is nessecary

Okay, the girl asked people to 'pray for her cause' not to pray for her to get money, even though she may think that money may go to 'help' her cause in some way.
I have many more 'important things' to pray to God about, from a long list of prayers for other people to 'have a good life with your help' to my own extremely bad health.
My husband has a job ... he needed a raise and hadn't had one for over three years, so he asked his boss for a raise. We would have been happy with a 10% 'increase.' Three months later, when he got his raise, our 'annual income' went from $16,000 a year to $54,000 a year. That's still 'under' the 'median paid' for what my husband does ... but we are EXTREMELY HAPPY with the 'extra money.' Did we 'pray' for it ... yes, we both did ... but as with all of our 'prayers' we also put in 'if you think it's right, Lord, not because we want it.' My husband also 'works very hard' and had 'earned' his raise ... and we also 'pray' several times a day (even in public, when you couldn't tell we are 'praying') and we 'trust God to take care of us' as well as 'doing the best job we can' ... and that, my dear, is not a 'last resort' ... it is having 'extreme faith in God' and knowing that God is 'goodness in all ways to all people' whether they 'believe in Him or not.'

An even better question is why do some Christians send money to Pat Robertson that they worked very hard for and believe that is the reason they were able to buy groceries that month. Don't you think that extra $50 could have bought them some extra pasta and sauce and helped out a lot more?

Yes, it may be the last resort or they may be victims of the "new age prosperity preaching that I am hearing lately". God says he will provide all our needs but that does not mean all our wants. God says that we are to be industrious...this means to work....to be productive. The only thing we should be talking to God about re: our finances is that he help us to make good judgements.

Working for money and because statistically prayer does not work. Also, Bill Gates is the richest man in the world and guess what religion he is.

The Bible says whoever will not work, should not eat. The proper thing is to work. But if that doesn't solve the problem, well, God likes to work when nothing else will.

the one who works.
But praying for the endurance and ability to earn more money will make the person more money.
We pray for the change within ourselves and this world, not for material things.
