No. I think "belief" or "faith" is but a poor substitute for reason, common sense, and analytical thinking.
All supernatural things are man-made fictions. Therefore it is not only not important to believe in "something", it is deluding and destructive. You can make better use of your life.

Believing in Gods is for the weak-minded, take that belief in God and put it towards believing in yourself.

What good do you get out of believing? Instead of believing, why not experience life just the way it is? This is the Buddhist mentality.

Great faith becomes a reality only when you have tried everything else.... after which you realize a great awakening has happened in your character (soul). Many things open up a faith in God, but only one thing keeps it flowing within. And that thing is what Christians call "the light". I pray you will soon find your "Light".

Yes, because most people that believe in something, have something in life to look forward to. Atheistic people don't have anything to look forward to is the grave. By believing in at least something you are giving yourself hope that their is something more. Even if it isn't a traditional god.

It depends on what you believe.

This is from a regular poster on this formed named "councilman"

"Wouldn't you want to kill someone who believed in your words and teachings and then turned his back on you? "

Scary stuff.
