I read somewhere the Mormans wear special underwear. But is that really true? I used to talk to a Morman girl, and she wore the same kind of bra and panties as any other woman would - so I know that special Mormon underwear thing wasn't true with her!

Are Christians supposed to display their faith in the open or keep it hidden?

Jesus said if you are fasting wash your face and don't make a scene.

Jesus said if you are praying do it in a room with the doors closed.

He also said don't make a big deal about how you dress.


**Question: So why do many Christians go around with ash on their foreheads, fish on their cars and/or crosses on their necks and have "Jesus is Real" bumperstickers when Jesus seemed to be against that?

So many times i want to answer religious question, and share my opinion with people who ask honest questions, but then i click on their name and there is no email? it is frustrating.

Good etiquette, is to send one email and then receive ONE reply. Atfter that, email replies in Q&A gets a little contentious. So lets be safe with just answering a question from a question and post more questions where it is concerned on the R&S section.

My college professor in my Religion 100 class is requiring the class to write a paper on three responders that represent as much diversity as possible in religious beliefs. I live in a small town where everyone is a Christian and don't know anyone that is anything other than that. I chose my mother for my 1st Responder and now I need two others. If humans are separated from other animals because we can reason...and God created us...then why shouldn't we use our ability to reason...why do so many say that, "God is almighty and powerful, do not question his powers."...is it God's plan to create us with the ability to reason and then NOT use it?? seems like a cruel joke to me

What is it called when we can "relax" our abstinence on Sundays during Lent? I know that it's 47 days from Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday which means that the 7 Sundays are "relaxations of lent" making lent an even 40 days, but what is "relaxation Sunday" called?

I'm hoping that quite a few people here have heard George Carlin's 'The 10 Commandments' comedy rant.

Is it because then man is no different from animals? We die like pigs, with nothing more... does that make you sad?

I think it might be that most people are just too intellectually lazy (and dishonest) to do the work in their mind, and realize there is no god, no heaven, no afterlife of any kind. There's simply no evidence for any of it, and people only believe because they want to. It makes them feel better.

It seems a bit weak to me... the idea that we believe something is true simply because it makes us feel better, but that's what it amounts to.

Why can't modern Christians see that their god is fake just like Zeus? They reject Zeus without a 2nd thought!! HOW can it be SO easy for them to reject ZEUS, yet they remiain TOTALLY BLIND to the fact that their god is just as fake??

Help me atheists!! Help me understand these Christians!!

God is with us all the time due to His omnipotence, but the difference between you and Jesus or Moses or Muhammad would be that these people were with God too. They were with Him at heart and actions and followed His requests.

Jesus was one such person, so if the Bible is full of figurative speech, why would it be wrong to conclude Jesus meant a very spiritual thing when he said he and God were one, and not really the convergence of their beings as one, but more on the same understanding due to him being chosen by God to speak to the Jews?

What I mean is, I remember reading a Bible scripture about:

The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's; but the earth he has given to the children of men (Psalm 115:16).

If he GAVE earth to man, how can he come back and repossess it later? I think the Bible says he returns later to take back the earth, but how can he do that since he GAVE it away to man?

Isn't that stealing? Would love your response to this! Thanks!

We have 5 senses:

Sight
Hearing
Touch
Taste
Smell

It always baffles me how there is so little evidence (that can be detected with the 5 senses).

Yet people bash you if you don't believe just like they do? It is SOOO "evident" you are wrong, even while they have a lack of evidence to back it up?

I don't mind people believing in things, but if they are gonna bash me for my beliefs (or lack of!) shouldn't they at least have some kind of proof first? (Pic? Vid? Saw em' in person & touched them? Can smell or taste em? Can really hear them? (Not misinterpreting one of your own thoughts to be "God" when it was actually you!)

What is your opinion on this?
Am I so wrong? Or do you think I am right?
