Wiccans do not have a creation myth per se. Some of them adopt the creation myths of other cultures; others believe that science is our best method of discerning the mysteries of the natural world, and therefore believe that physics (for example) provides the best answer.

Why so little concern about how the universe was created? I think it's because Wiccans are much more concerned with living thoughtfully and ethically in the here and now, and working to create the best possible future. Where the universe came from is relatively unimportant compared to the fact that it IS here, and that we find ourselves living in it.

Myself, I believe that science is indeed our best window into the past, so you can count me in with the "Big Bang" crowd. Did the Gods oversee this process, or were They created along with the universe itself? I honestly don't have enough information to say.

Well, me neighbor claims to be wiccan and he says he believes God created the world, but that God lets nature "do the rest of the work". In other words he thinks things in nature are alive and have souls/spirits like the grass and rocks and things like that. And yes, just like the person before me mentioned, wiccans pretty much just leave the ideas on everything else up to the individual.

The Divine began the processes of universe and defined it's parameters. The world came into being because the conditions were right, so too with life on the world, so too with us.

I believe that the world was created only in the most basic sense. I believe that gods or goddesses began life with a simple spark, like mitosis of a single-celled structure and allowed evolution to take over. All life evolves into new life and contains a portion of the original spark of the divine.

That is a good one. Anyone else care to comment? I wonder what their creation myth is?
