No, but I am a primate.
Monkeys and humans are both primates. However, monkeys are Platyrrhini and Catarrhini Cercopithecoidea while humans are Catarrhini Hominoidea, like other apes.

Been to the zoo?
You should make a visit, it's amazing.
We are very close to chimps, apes, monkeys... CLEARLY man evolved from a common ancestor, but we did not "come from monkeys". That is a called a 'straw-man' and it's commonly used by uneducated people, or people with a political agenda that is squashed by the Theory of Evolution.
By the way.. There is FAR more evidence that Evolution is true than there is for GRAVITATIONAL THEORY.
Did you get that? Evolution is a fact just like GRAVITY.
SO, if you doubt evolution, you should also doubt gravity. But you'd need some science education to understand that one.

Here's something for you to do. Go to a decent Gorilla habitat, I would suggest the one at the Bronx Zoo. Go with and open mind and heart. Sit there for a few hours and watch the gorillas interact with each other and the humans that are watching them. Look into their eyes and you will KNOW that you are looking into the eyes of your own kind. If you have any doubts then keep going, eventually it WILL hit you.

Chimps are not monkeys, they are apes.
I am evolved from a common ancestor of today's great apes. This is not something I "believe", this is scientifically verifiable FACT.

Say what you want, we've all SEEN people who look as though they would be right at home in an ape enclosure at the zoo. AND, we've all known people who ACT like they are apes!! Or worse.

All living things share a common ancestor, look at bones, fossils, dna and you can see that.
We are primates, like chimps and gorillas and other apes.
We are just less hairless apes, in truth.

of course not.
Genesis 1: 24-25 says, "And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. "
Genesis 1:26 says. "Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
God made the animals first. Monkeys are animals. Then, God made man. Monkeys are not our ancestors.

Neat story
I am an ape, not a monkey (but evolved from a creature that was much like a monkey, but now an extinct creature).

No, but some of our distant distant distant distant relatives would have been called monkeys on plain visual inspection, if you didn't bother looking at their actual genus and species.
Evolution happens dude. Deal with it.
