People of all beliefs, Muslims, atheists, Christians, pagans, Taoists, agnostics, Buddhists, Hindus, Jews,
Why do you try to convert people? What do you get from it?

That's the real question, and some description: Big groups of belief are clashing with each other and, even through that, the groups are trying to convert each other. Why do you try to convert people? Do you think your religion makes people happier or that believing in so-and-so will help you win the lotto? Please enlighten me. I don't understand why you want to convert someone to your beliefs who you just had a near-deadly argument with over beliefs, beliefs meaning that they can't be proven.

And the small "disclaimer." For future reference, I understand not all people do it, etcetera etcetera. Aimed at people who do.

I'm curious about this. How do you, as a Christian (or any other religious person) feel about asking the "universe" to bring things into existence that you are intending, such as the philosophy behind the current "The Secret" new age phenomenon? Do you view this a pagan, false idolatry or blasmphemous practice? Do you think God and the universe are the same or different, etc, etc.

I know they do not celebrate Holidays and birthdays, but I don't know why.

I know they call God Jehovah, and I know about that.

I just don't see any major differences between this religion and Christianity. I am asking because I am looking.

I was watching a show last nite about "Woman on Death Row", and a few of the ladies on there were clearly innocent...one imparticular. None of the evidence pointed to her and the police department that handled her case was known for scandles and mistakes...yet she was convicted anyway and killed by lethal injection. That upset me and then I started thinking about all of the atrocities that go on on this planet and have been going on since probally forever...and I can't help but wonder, if God created the Devil, y wont he just uncreate him. Simple right?

You have many more rights defined in The Constitution than exist in The Bible. The Bible has commandments which are not manifest in the Democratic Government we call A Republic. This based upon men trying to free themselves from the rule of Kings! Yes, America was formed by specifics that were placed upon those that came here in their pursuit of freedom. Freedom from Monarchial rule. The founding fathers wrote The Declaration of Independence to declare their liberty from Monarchial rule, which is defined in every aspect by which Jesus and God hold as they reside in The Kingdom of God. sAtAn wanted to escape this rule as did the first pioneers of America. A war was fought and THE KINGS were demolished. America was united and free. Do you see the irony of what America did? IT ESCAPED KING Rule! But the religious order of the day would declare that God Is King, and in King God We Trust! You are fighting a contradiction and a war already won by FREE THINKING MEN. Religion Out!

I remember reading in the OT about the "brazen sea" or big thing of water for the high priests to wash in before they went in the temple. My questions on it are:

Was the washing cerimonial, or casual?

Did they just wash part of themselves (like their face and hands) or have a full on bath?

I put this question sincerely to get enlightened on this subject. Who all enjoy the right to confer these titles? Are not those who use unauthorised titles liable for criminal punishment? Many are seen sporting these types of titles preceding their name. Politicians can't usually make it to obtain a Doctorate. So they maneuver to get one from the authorized University under their control. Film stars particularly those based in Tamilnadu put a decorative title with their name? Does not this tendency reduce the spark of deserving national and academic honors?

And has anyone got the full text and any idea of who wrote it? I think it begins 'I was too busy to pray today' and ends with a verse saying because the person ~is~ busy, they found they ~needed~ to pray! Am trying to find this for a friend.
