It isn't like that. Between the two of you, read the Bible to determine for yourselves what to believe, then take the time to find out the differences in theology of each denom. The idea is to get the two of you to reach an agreement of what you both believe, and find the denom or church that comes close to that.

Why do you have to become one or the other? Go visit churches and look up the doctrines. Why is she closed to being Catholic? Why are you closed to being Baptist? No matter what, you will still be Catholic at heart. And, she will be baptist at heart. You need to sit down and find where you two truly differ and figure out if it will affect your relationship. I dated a guy that was Catholic, and though I loved him dearly, the religious difference was big enough that it tore us apart.

You need to figure it out before you get too deep into the relationship.

Otherwise, try random churches together and attend each other's church and discover things you may actually like about it and find it in other churches together. Look for the things you agree on. If she doesn't want a church that is liturgical (practices the full Christian year including Lent, Holy Week, and so on), and you do, then you are really up a creek. lol

Baptist and Catholic are pretty far apart from each other. You may try non-denominational that has common group for both of you.

If you want a mainstream Protestant belief that is equally distant from either of those, then Reformed/Presbyterian is what you want. Otherwise, Methodist is pretty close to the middle of the two, but they do baptize infants.

On the other hand, you do need to sit down & discuss your specific beliefs & what makes you Catholic/Baptist. Both of you compromising your religious beliefs will only make for two miserable people. If you're thinking of permanent relationship, this kind of compromise is for when you've already tied the knot!

I sincerely pray that you remain steadfast in your Catholic faith. It is the best thing you can do for yourself. I converted 2 years ago after a long and dark spiritual journey, and finally found home in the Catholic Church.

Live your Catholic faith. Be a witness to your girlfriend. If that causes her to leave you, then continue to pray for her. She may not see it now, but the Church will give the both of you a center and foundation for the rest of your lives if marriage is in your future.

God bless.

Methodist is a nice compromise. We baptise infants and take communion a little more seriously than some baptists ( I was raised baptist so I can say that). We are little more attuned to the ritual of the sacraments as well.

Presbyterian, Episcopalian/Anglican, the protestant denominations that were made during/right after the Reformation, they're pretty close to Catholic but still Protestant. Lutheran also.
