Believers (of any religion), at what point in your life did you become convinced of God's existence? Could anything happen that would convince you otherwise?

Atheists, at what point in your life did you become convinced of God's non-existence? Could anything happen that would convince you otherwise?

Agnostics, could anything happen that would make you convinced either of God's existence of non-existence?

In Yahoo! Answers we've seen that the majority of non-Muslims speak ignorantly and absurdly about the greatest of all God's creations; the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This has revealed the deep bigotry these people hold towars Islam, the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and the whole Islamic world.

Perhaps these people do not even know that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was greatly admired by countless famous and respected personalities of their own civillizations. Here is a small list of intellectuals of the world and what they've said about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). I hope the non-Muslims would read this and change their blind hatred towards Islam into a more tolerable view. All those intellectuals were non-Muslims.

It should be noted that there were much more non-Muslim intellectuals who praised the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). I hope to send you more of these famous people'scomments later.

If you belive Jesus is god than do you know you are going to hell for worshiping a false idol?
One of the original comanments was do not worship false idol.
Knowing what God said in the old testement that he is the only god, how can you believe Jesus is God?
Looking at the Bible as a story and not a faith is it possibly jesus was put on this Earth as the Dark lord to test the faith of all. The dark lord would seem to be great and nice and godly to get everyone to believe he is god or the son of god thus makeing you break a comanment thus sending you to hell.
Have you ever thought about that.
Now add all the negative things the cristian and cathllioc church has done to keep there church secerets (rape boys, killing whole towns that did not believe what the did etc..)
does this make you reflect back and think just for a second about your belief system.
By the way I do not believe in jesus i do believe in the bible though at least the old testement

THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUTH AND MANY LIES

Because some people don't believe in any "afterlife". They think that when you die...that's it, and nothing happens. No debt to pay, no sins to answer for. Nothing. They may regret it one day...because they don't KNOW and no one KNOWS exactly what happens when you die. I had rather live as if there were a GOD and AFTERLIFE and die only to find out there WASN'T...than to live as if there WASN'T a God or Afterlife, only to die and find out there WAS !!! Now...wouldn't that be a huge regret... if someone lived so carelessly and full of sin because they just couldn't believe in God and an Afterlife, but died and learned that there really is a God and that we do have to answer for our lives on earth ??? I believe. I try to do my best and when I am weak, I ask for forgiveness and try to learn from my mistakes and I strive to do better in the future. No one's perfect and we all give in to temptation and sin, but hopefully we realize this and try to please God while we're living here on

I have been hanging out in the lesbian/gay section for a while following the threads, not because I am gay myself, but they tend to have interesting conversations. One thing I've noticed is that there are also people who hang out in that forum and spew repetitive religious doctrine and anti-gay hate on nearly every question. I realize that these people are just bullies by nature, and not representative of a religion, but I wonder why religions preach this hate to begin with.

The most promising answer so far has been that homosexuals tend to not have children to carry on the religious beliefs, so they are not benefiting the church. The church tries to intimidate them into living their lives "in the closet" and raising children for the next generation of church-goers.

Is there a more likely reason?

I'm kind of curious, since I've heard that after undergoing a few weeks of therapy, Ted Haggard has declared that he is now completely heterosexual. Does anyone actually believe that a lifelong sexual preference can actually be reversed with a few weeks, a few months, or a few years of therapy?

The Sunday and daily readings in The Catholic Church are the same every day and the same in all locations every where in the world. While the protestant readings differ from the catholic readings and from each other. Thus creating a divided effort. Why not all get on the same page. Especialy since we all believe the bible to be a living rather than a historic document

The choices I am talking about are religious and political choices. No one thinks that a 6 year old is a bonifide republican or democrat because s/he is too young to understand the concepts.

Why do christians think that the same 6 yr old is old enough to understand the logic of the creationism/evolution debate, or the concept of life after death?

When is a child old enough to be able to make the choice of political and religious affiliation for him/herself?
