Would you have a written bible? Would this God/Goddess be visible? What other attributes (good or bad) would you give to this being?

This is a hypothetical.. suspend what you believe or don't believe for a minute and actually answer the question.

Sigh, could anyone possibly use their imagination a bit and actually answer the question with some detail? Why is this so difficult for you?

I love using my imagination. Let me try.

If I were designing a God or Goddess..I wouldn't have written a book because the written word can be twisted and misinterpreted all to easy. Rather have them reveal themselves through Nature itself.

Knowing me, I'd design my God to be a trickster with a killer sense of humor. A shape-shifter. Probably sly and mischievous and have control over the element of fire. Maybe a psychopomp (collector of souls) too. Not evil, and not like the Grim reaper. More like Odin in this respect.

Um, R&Sers?

For a large part I think that's pretty much what people have done. God is pretty big you know, so big that knowing the actual nature of God is difficult to wrap your mind around. So over the years people have tried to come up with ideas about the Creator. Wrathful, loving, vengful, an old guy with sandles and a white beard, a woman, etc. Whether or not any of these is truely a mystery.

I think in the end we all find the image of who and what God is that we can understand and are comfortable with and stick with that. Whether its in a holy book and shared with others or one that we've come up with ourselves.

It wouldn't be just one. It would be sentience in nature. There would be no written rules and no sacrifices required. Just keeping nature relatively clean (I'm not an earth muffin, but I do love nature).

That probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense....

Or I wouldn't mind if there had been a god who created life as we know it and then lost interest (and will never regain interest). Basically a starter-god! I know there's a belief system out there like this, but I don't recall the name.

So basically we just live and then we die, and that's it. No reincarnation, no afterlife. Oh, but ghosts (the occasional one) would be cool.

Hey guess what everybody? Humans have been designing gods since time immemorial!

My god would be truly all-loving, would never allow wars, disease murder rape, child abuse, bigotry, religion, or any other disruptive thing. All creation would live peaceful fulfilling lives.

If my god chose to make itself known, it would do so directly, without needing interpretation, everyone would understand perfeclyt.

But I don't think it would make itself known, because it would not need or want to be worshiped.

The one I could invent would be the one that created me :)

That gave me my awareness and my mind faculties to be aware of myself and my actions and not live like an animal.

Otherwise theres no need to worship a god in my opinion if Hes not the one that created me.

I would make myself god and it would be like my own personal reality tv show. I would mess with people just to stir up some drama when I got bored.

My God would be a monkey and he would appear and slap people any time they said something stupid. I would say stupid things just to see the monkey god.
