This kind of thinking makes me angry. Can't help sexual preferences, therefore, it can't be "cured". Not really.
Let it be!

Not all gay people are the same. I know people who are married now, happily, who had gay relationships before. If you think this begs the question whether or not they are gay, maybe it also begs the question of your definition of gay as a preference that cannot be changed.
I don't think most can switch. Many go through the pain of not being able to do this, either as a teen or later. But again, not all people are the same.

It's not an illness so there's no need for a cure.
There is one exception. That is those who switch gender choice as a result of childhood sexual abuse. After enduring that with society looking the other way, no one has the right to degrade their desire to do something that makes them happy inside.

Yes, i absolutely believe it can be cured. It probably can be difficult at times and the potential to fall in this area may not ever go away completely. Same as a sex addict can be cured of his unnatural obsession but he will probably never lose his desire for sex completely, but it may go down to normal levels.Homosexuality is a disorder that I believe originates in very early childhood which is why they claim to have always been that way, and the problem is very deepseated.
The situation may be different with some lesbians who it seem can revert that way later in life simply because they're fed up with men. I believe they can switch back much easier witht he exception of lesbians who have been taht way far back into childhood.

Yes. Sometimes people become a homosexual because they are afraid of the other sex. Women who were abused by their fathers prefer women, and men who are insecure with themselves or were brought up fearing women prefer men. Once get over their fear, they are heterosexual.
Besides, homosexuality isn't heritable. If it was, homosexuals would have died out already, since they wouldn't be able to reproduce. Also, the youngest brother in a family is more likely to be homosexual, an example of enviornmental factors.

I doubt it...unless they used brainwashing and hypnotism. Those aren't cures though, those are just ways to manipulate the brain and are not natural. Sexuality is determined at birth.

Of course it can be cured but only if the person wants to be. I once met a guy that said he was a Christian homosexual. I asked him how it was possible. His answer was so obvious I never even thought of it....he said he was a virgin and planned on staying that way.

They will only cure it when they want to have it cured, sexual perversion is no difference than drug addiction or a gambling addiction, it can be cured, unfortunately most of them are hooked and prefer to maintain that lifestyle, not because they have to it is because they want to, it really is a vary sick and perverted sexual desire, of course that's just my opinion.

Only God can help reverse the homosexual lifestyle. I know of two people who abandoned the gay lifestyle and are living heterosexual lives. Both are married and one couple has 9 children! With God all things are possible.

Anyone who is truly born again, is healed from this iniquity. If Ted Haggard went through therapy and hasn't yet confessed Jesus Christ his Lord & Savior, believing in his heart that Jesus raised from the dead, then it is just a therapy and he may not yet be healed.
I have heard or read peoples testimonies who have been saved/ healed from sexual addictions through faith in Jesus. It happens all the time. They are born again and the old man is dead and the new man in Christ alive forever more. This happens in a moment of time. Persons sins are washed away in His redeeming blood.
But for the baby Christian, they still need to renew mind in the Word of God & be renewed in spirit from time to time. And if one sins, confess sin to God. He is faithful & just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Christians mature in Christ. But the moment one is born of God, one is made the righteousness of Christ.
When one is born of God, one can't abide in sin (make it a pleasant habit), because of the Holy Seed within. A spiritual birth has happened. Who is he who overcomes, He who is born of God. And what is our victory, our faith in Christ.
Also, regarding Ted. I believe he was abused sexually as a child, and that is probably why he never quite crossed over and confessed Jesus Christ Lord. He needs to let go, and let God. Not one person is born gay (with a sexual addiction). That is just in the media to persuade people to believe it.
