Christmas is the celebration of Christ's birth, but if you do not believe in Christ, do you celebrate? if you do, what exactly do you celebrate?

If god gave us free will then we are the ones doing evil and not being made to by Satan. You can say that Satan urges us to do evil, however, we are still the ones doing it and making the conscious choice. It is what separates a sting from entrapment.

In otherwords, people have a problem believing in God because they cant comprehend the existence of anything without a creator?

Isnt that an irony?

Since their mind is constantly running in circles saying the same old thing: nothing is without a creator. :)

I personally find it a lovely paradox.

don't anyone ever begin to doubt their religion despite all these less thought of but significant occurances.
studies in great britain has shown that a lot of britain's high spciety has converted to islam,
source: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1096872/posts
plus many celebrities have also converted to islam for example mohammed Ali before that he wasnt and was known as Cassius.
Cat Stevens converted and is Yusof Islam now and he teaches islam through his songs... Michael jackson's older brother is also a muslim and is spreading the word to his pop king brother... Just to name a few..

and the conversion of a church clerics and cardinals to islam prior to all these...
just wondering are people at thought about this or are their faiths already shaken or just in denial. i know its going to be a bit heated but i am very open to mature views on this. thanks.

Exodus 21:20-21 – God says that it is OK to own slaves, and it is also OK to beat them.
- Colossians 3:22-24 – Slaves need to obey their masters.

- Ephesians 6:5 – Slaves need to obey their masters just as they would obey Christ.

- 1 Peter 2:18 – Slaves need to obey their masters, even if their masters are harsh .

And so on…
And why do all intelligent people abhor slavery and make it completely illegal? You have to come up with some kind of weird rationalization to explain it.

many parents teach their kids as infants what to believe in, which even with good intentions is still brainwashing. Is there an age you believe that a person is old enough to decide on their own what they believe, if so how old? (Doesn't have to be an exact age, an approximate age/maturity level would suffice)

Why is the catholic church so concerned about gay/lesbians adopting children when they continue to turn a blind eye to the rising amount of child abuse by priests . Instead on finding the priests and making them pay for what they have done, they send the priests away to another church or they pay the family off with money.

Christians get married in front of God and their Christian friends, all of whom are praying to God for the marriage to succeed. And then they say, "What God has put together, let no man put asunder." God is all-powerful, so if God has put two people together that should seal the deal, right? Yet Christians get divorced at the same rate as everyone else. To explain this, you have to create some convoluted rationalization.

i have had to deal with judgemental christians all my life. i consider myself to be a christian yet i dont followe the same structure that some do and for that i have lost jobs and relationships. right now im dealing with a boss that states that she is a good christian woman. yet after a discussion we had about our faith and how it works she suddenly has got it out for me to the point of making up stories and passing them on to the higher ups in the company with what seems to be an agenda to get me fired. this is not a isolated incident i see it all the time. why are christians so judgemental

Jesus is all-powerful and timeless, but if you pray for Jesus to appear, nothing happens. You have to create a weird rationalization to deal with this discrepancy

Look out at our world and notice that millions of children are dying of starvation. It really is horrific. Why would God be worried about you getting a raise, while at the same time ignoring the prayers of these desperate, innocent little children? It really doesn't make any sense, does it? Why would a loving god do this?

No one can KNOW, however much faith you have or however much evidence you don't have.

All Spiritual Paths should be contemplated or at least looked into by individuals - how do you know that yours is the most convincing if you have never even read other Holy Books? How can you know that none of them are convincing without looking into them?

And if you have, and don't believe in God, surely you would still be agnostic, even if you're an agnostic as close to atheism as can be. You cannot be sure. If you are so totally SURE there's no supernatural/superior force, it is a little arrogant and means you just assume you're right (though I can understand not accepting certain varities of religion, or saying some are more likely.)

Even if you've read all religious texts and studied science, and still believe your religion, you also cannot be sure. You can be as close to a total theist as can be, but still agnostic as you do not KNOW.
