I've never really understood the concept that someone else would die for 'our' sins. Er... thanks for the help, but wouldn't it have been more useful if he spend more years preaching about how great the world would be if we were all just nicer to each other?

Yes it was necessary for Jesus to die for us but we don't have to fight our way to heaven. All we have to do is believe that Jesus is God in the flesh, that He died and rose and the 3rd day and accept Him as our personal savior and try to keep God commandments and even when we slip up ask for forgiveness.

There is no fighting your way into heaven. No one is going to heaven unless they repent of sin and believe in Jesus.

Yes it was. What are you talking about? You can't fight your way into heaven. The only way to heaven is Jesus. Believe, repent, confess and you shall be saved.

Jesus died for our sins and rose from death to show that he had power over sin and death! He was God in the flesh!

Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many rooms... I am going there to prepare a place for you." John 14:2

We cannot "fight" our way into heaven. That is a freely given gift that is ours for the asking.
Jesus' sacrifice is the last and perfect sacrifice for us. All we must 'fight' is our own stubborness in not accepting the gift.
So, yes, He had to die so that He could be that final offering. He was resurrected and will return for his followers.

No one can fight their way into Heaven. You can love your way there, however. Yes it was necessary for Christ to atone for the sins that we cannot make up for ourselves. Only by doing all that we can to make ourselves better and make others better can we find ourselves in the Kingdom of God at the end of this life.

You don't have to fight your way to heaven! If you believe you are a sinner and that Christ died to take the punishment for your sins you will go to heaven. Ehp. 2:8-9 For by grace are you saved by faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.

You don't have to fight your way to heaven, and you couldn't if you tried.

The ONLY way to get to heaven is to acknowledge that you're a sinner, believe that Jesus is who He said He is, and accept His free gift of salvation.

There is no other way to get to heaven. The Bible is very clear on this point.

It was necessary, I don't have to fight my way to heaven. If you feel you do, then you haven't accepted that which was necessary.
