Many enlightened people or at least those who claim like Echat Tolle and some Zen people i know claim that there is no soul, or anything separate at all. That to die is like a water drop in the ocean, dissolves like never existed. They seem to be happy about it and seem to think that it is the ultimate truth.

Why would anyone be trying to realize that they don't even exist? I don't understand that. Much of Buddhism makes sense except those Zen Buddhists, meditating all day trying to experience the no self. And those enlightened people that go around smiling telling people THERE IS NO SOUL! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS which is not separate from universal consciousness in any way!

Those things make me depressed. I like to take third perspective on my situation, but enlightenment is far too much. I keep thinking about it like "man if he is enlightened he probably knows the truth and if this is truth then what is the point of everything?"

How are we using vent worms that live miles below the ocean floor in a completing self-contained ecosystem?

Any ideas on this one?

Would you proudly march in a parade that included Christians of every imaginable denomination, Jews (conservative, reform, secular, etc.), Muslims, Buddhists, Unitarian Universalists, Humanists and atheists, Scientologists, etc. if the theme was "Celebrating Our Religious Diversity and Freedom of Thought, Religion, and Conscience"?

Why don't we have Freedom of Religion parades or festivals?

There was a mousetrap in my grandma's basement. I heard the mouse get snapped, and for 10 minutes listened to it struggle. Another 5 minutes went by, and I couldn't take it anymore so I drowned the poor little thing...His body was broken, there was no way I could let him go..He would have died a slow miserable death...Is it bad I helped him go faster?

I know alot of Christian Scientists who believe in Theistic Evolution. I see this as a current trend amongst members of the Scientific Community. What do you think about it? I at least from my own personal scientific views think its a step in the right direction. Opinions?

We don't die because of sin; we die because death is a necessary corollary of multicellular life (cf Ursula Goodenough, "The Sacred Depths of Nature"). We're cruel to each other sometimes because we're animals and finite beings, but we have the capacity to better ourselves. What if we could just be happy on this earth? What if we could believe that there is a soul which survives the death of our body, but that instead of migrating to some transcendent place of bliss or torture, it returns to the earth in another form or lives with our ancestors and the spirits of the world? Does Christianity maintain its hold on us by creating a fictitious sickness for which it claims it has the only cure?

Son of the Living God? Jesus told Peter it was the Father who revealed this to Him.

What do Muslims think about later when Jesus began to talk about the crucifixion, and Peter replied with an impulsive thought, "No, no, Gods Son can't die on the cross!!"?

Jesus then called Peter, "Satan, get behind me. You care about the things of man & not God.". What do Muslims think about what Jesus called Peter?

And can they explain these biblical verses?

I read them, reply to OR delete them, and or, mark them spam and move on. I simply KNOW who I am, don't care who assumes what they like. I try to help others on here, even when my help is mocked. I ask questions, not merely for help in my own life, but to see what OTHERS believe or choose to say. I am sometimes confounded at the wonderful ansers, confused by the dumb or gimpy answers [just for Yahoo points]. Then I am saddened for the ones who like to email me to start a fight, saying I am NOT who I say I am. Those people are the ones missing out, in my humble opinion, I AM a great person, love myself & others, and am a wonderful friend to have.

Okay I believe in evolution!

But I when I ask someone a question about it to someone who doesn't believe in it I really want to hear what they have to say. I'm not trying to argue I just want to hear what you believe and why you believe it. So when you "Christians" are going around b*tching at the questions asked on here it could be asked by someone who really cares what you have to say and will actually take your answer and think about it.

So if you are just going to answer my questions on here b*tching about how I don't know what I'm talking about and all that jazz just don't bother reading my questions. I do go to church! I have been baptized (at my own free will I made the decsion when I was old enough to understand what I was doing) but I also believe certain things.

Maybe, I'm asking those questions because I am confused about my faith and I don't have anybody to talk to about it!

I asked a simple question to see if Christians found any gods of mythology interesting
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqHUVrJTOQCe6eriRXhTxw_d7BR.?qid=20070212080923AA4FlNF
This question has no bearing on ones religion, in fact the question was asked generally and was answered by atheists and Pagans alike.

Christians frequently post about how athests cannot think outside the box and imagine angels and faeries and whatnot and yet it seems that Christians have this problem more than anybody else.

Why are Christians so closed-minded?
