Let me grab a list out of my Bible...brb!
A true friend is someone who doesn't...
*Cause you to stumble or sin. Instead, they encourage you to do just the opposite, and challenge you to run the race with endurance.
*Insult you constantly. Love builds up--it doesn't tear down.
*Leave you in tough times. True friends are with you in good times AND the bad.
*Gossip about you. True friends guard your back instead of stabbing it.
*Put irrational conditions on the friendship and/or manipulate (use) you. True friends won't stop being your friend if you stop buying them coffee every Tuesday. Instead, a true friend will insist on paying once in a while!

Someone who is there for me no matter what.Someone who won't tell me what I want to hear,but tell me the truth,whether I'm wrong or right or good or bad.Someone who will respect my privacy and not run their mouth about me,behind my back.Someone who will accept the same behavior from me. No hypocrites.Someone who won't air out any dirty laundry they may know about me. I can't stand a gossip.

2 come to mind....acceptance no matter the faults and keeping confidences...even when we have moved on.
