God decided that for Adam because He didn't want Adam to be alone. This union was also the first wedding. Not a big ceremony like we usually associate with weddings. This one was presided over by God Himself.

God decided that for Adam. God said "It is not good for man to be without a mate so I will create a mate for him and call it woman" He had no say in the matter.

Adam wanted a mate like all the other animals in the garden so he asked God for one. God said he would give Adam the perfect mate but it would cost him an arm and a leg. Adam considered this then asked what he could get for a rib. Hence Eve. Then mermaids and unicorns lived happily ever after in the fairy tale land known as the bible.

Adam (Hebrew: ×Ö¸×Ö¸×, "man"; Arabic: آدÙ
; Ge'ez: á á³á) and Eve (Hebrew: ×Ö·×Ö¸Ö¼×, Ḥavva, "living one"; Arabic: ØÙاء, Hawwa; Ge'ez: áááá, Hiywan) were the first man and woman created by God according to the Bible and the Qur'an.
The story is told in the Old Testament's book of Genesis, chapters 2 and 3, with some additional elements in chapters 4 and 5. The main story elements are the creation of man and woman; the temptation and the Fall; the expulsion from Eden; and the subsequent peopling of the world outside the Garden of Eden. The narrative underwent extensive elaboration in later Abrahamic traditions, and modern textual scholarship continues to analyse the story's many layers, identifying, for example, parallels with Sumerian mythology. The story has provided many of the most important symbols in Western culture, including the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the forbidden fruit, and the serpent as Satan, and has originated or reinforced some cultural ideas including the doctrine of original sin and the subordination of women in many Christian denominations, especially in past centuries.

God did not consult man about the creation of women. Adam did not ask for a companion; he was not even aware of the deficiency in his life. Woman, like man, is entirely the Creator’s idea. Both are created in God’s image, which means they have free choice, and both are thus morally and spiritually equal in his eyes. The Creator “brought her to the man,” and he presents her with a courteous flourish. Man is instantly moved to poetry: “This one at last/ Is bond of my bones / And flesh of my flesh.” Now man has a “fitting companion,” different but equal, who stands upright and laughs and cries and talks like him. Both are naked, but neither is ashamed. They are as innocent as infants romping at the beach.

Man was lonely and couldn't find an appropriate companion among the animals, so God made the woman for him.

Lilith, no (Gen 1:27). For Eve, well the idea wasn't his, but after that it just says nothing "suitable" was found until the rib incindent (Gen 2:18-23).

GOD has the power and HE is the creator. HE wanted both MALE and FEMALE. Thats why HE is against MALE with MALE and FEMALE with FEMALE because he did not create them to be that way..if HE did HE would have made ADAM and STEVE in the beginning.
