Because some people don't believe in any "afterlife". They think that when you die...that's it, and nothing happens. No debt to pay, no sins to answer for. Nothing. They may regret it one day...because they don't KNOW and no one KNOWS exactly what happens when you die. I had rather live as if there were a GOD and AFTERLIFE and die only to find out there WASN'T...than to live as if there WASN'T a God or Afterlife, only to die and find out there WAS !!! Now...wouldn't that be a huge regret... if someone lived so carelessly and full of sin because they just couldn't believe in God and an Afterlife, but died and learned that there really is a God and that we do have to answer for our lives on earth ???

Yes, death is natural & true. Why people dont understand this is all think that it (death) will happen to the other person not me. Its bcoz of ignorance & mostly people doesn't wnat to realize this fact that death can come at any moment.

Are you asking why people would choose to do horrible things, when they know that they are for a fact going to die, and have to face God or whatever other force is there to judge them??

It would seem logical that a person would at very least not intentionally try to do wrong, or to ridicule and mock God, even if they think there isn't a God - cause they don't really know, after all. Its seems safer, I quess, to just stay neutral if you have athiest feelings.
You can't con God, but you can at least not piss Him off anymore than you have already, ya know??

Crimes have got nothing to do with realisation of death. Death is an inevitability for all living beings. We know that, yet we want to live on and on. It is our frailty.
