It is said that Prophets teach us by divine guidance. Their knowledge is presumed to be derived from God's revelations. Nevertheless, there are a lot of magicians who startle us with their amazing sorcery by which we could not distinguish real miracles and magic. How could we differentiate both?

Please only genuine, serious, and considered answers to help me understand.

I own several Muslim text books and copies of Islamic scripture and in them the prophets, angels, and ordinary Muslims are called "slaves of Allah". Islam means "to submit (to Allah)" and Muslims are the "slaves of Allah" your own books say this - I would very much like to know how Muslims really feel about this fact, and if you are happy and content to be regarded as a submissive slave by your god?

I've tried to imagine how I would feel in that position and it sent terrible chills through my blood and soul - personally I would not be able to live with this feeling.

He told me:
"Either everything is a miracle ... or nothing is a miracle. Miracles only disappoint you if they happen sometimes, and not other times.
So, I don't believe in miracles."

NOTE FROM ME "Jewel":
I myself do believe in miracles. When they don't happen I don't get depressed or discouraged. I simply praise God for the good and the bad, knowing He knows best for my life. I actually feel sad for my doctor, because if he did recieve a miracle, what would he attribute it to? We are to praise God for them, so if he doesn't even believe in them, how can he praise God for them. And how can you be a true follower of God if you don't believe in what His word says and you don't live your life like it says to. Sometimes I find non-believers stick to their [ideas=unbelief] even moreso than some believers. Do you?

why people say it is a peaceful religion, but at the same time I keep seeing videos which are appealing. I started reading it a few days ago but I had a difficult time understanding it. The first chapter freaked me out until I asked a Muslim what it meant, unfortunately I do not have a Muslim friend in real life, nor do I have the time to seek one out to explain the Koran to me.

I want to give an honest effort to try to understand the beliefs. I wish to be able to have honest debate with them without being ignorant. I want to understand their ways.. Is there any site out there that explains what the passages of the Koran mean?

It shows that if we ever become lost, and our faith is weak, God not only has not forgot us, but HE WILL RUN TO US. He wants us back probably even more than we want to be back with Him.

Agree?

even more faith.

It also shows that you never really gave up on God.
I believe He never gave up on you either.

It's like the prodigal son, he said, in the midst of his turning away
"In my father's house there is plenty."
REMEMBER THE FATHER RAN TO HIM.

Many Charismatic believers speak in tongues.
I have been to churches where they do, and where people interpret tongues into prophecy.
NO I am not talking about churches that play with snakes, I think that is tempting God myself. I would probably RUN from a church where they did that. LoL

If I'm his creation and he is omniscient and omnipotent he would know in advance that I would use this brain he gave me to

- critically look at the available evidence
- evaluate all the world's beliefs
- use my reasoning and logic skills to be best of my ability
- come to the conclusion that he (and the other gods) don't exist
- that organised religion is origin myths gone wrong.

And this condemns me to an eternity in hell?

If that is truly the case, I not only don't believe in him, I reject him completely. That is not the way a loving parent would behave.
