even more faith.

It also shows that you never really gave up on God.
I believe He never gave up on you either.

It's like the prodigal son, he said, in the midst of his turning away
"In my father's house there is plenty."
REMEMBER THE FATHER RAN TO HIM.

No non-lying HUMAN can deny that we ALL tinged with varying degrees of HYPOCRISY. I know that the longer you are out of communion with the Lord; the more difficult it is to return. It has
been atleast 8 years for me personally. And it is a serious BATTLE.

The more time you spend "in the flesh and in the world"......means w/o a doubt, the more wrong ideas and focus one will have to seperate and re~discern. The ways of the world, especially in the major changes in just a decade-have to be reconciled. We lose our ability to think and live like Christ the longer we are away from HIM.

My personal issue in my own "Prodigal daughter trying to return home" is that since I do not hear HIS voice, or sense the Holy Spirit's presence as easily or as soon as I USED TO, that it cripples my faith, and I fall backwards once again, and go days and days without reading the Word or praying.

I know that ULTIMATELY, it will take TIME. We have to for a SECOND TIME AROUND...RE_RENEW our minds AGAIN.

I can only offer this.
My dad was a strong, born again, on fire and hungry for the LORD believer, and fell away for 22 years! He came back, re-dedicated his life, and has lead worship (he plays guitar/vocals too) and is doing well, in daily fellowship with Christ once again.
This is what gives me hope, as in the 8 years that I have backslidden, I would rather just give up and DIE than live another day without GOD's HOLY PRESENCE on my life.

God Bless YOU!

"AND THEN HE RAN TO ME
TOOK ME IN HIS ARMS
HELD MY HEAD TO HIS CHEST
SED MY SONS' COME HOME AGAIN
HE LIFTED ME FACE
WIPED THOSE TEARS FROM MY EYES
WITH FORGIVENESS IN HIS VOICE
HE SAID MY SON;S COME HOME AGAIN...........

HE TOOK ME BY SURPRISE
AND IT BROUGHT ME TO MY KNEES.......
WHEN
GOD
RAN"

Sometimes a person needs time to discover themselves and what they truly believe in their heart. I've found that if I am unconsciously reaching to god, that in one way or another, he reaches back. Even so much has having another of the same faith show up within the next few days as a reminder, and an opening to return to God.

and they say we are the pushy ones. study the Bible. Rom 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by potential of listening to, and listening to by potential of the know God. Heaven will be a lot more effective powerful than earth. there'll be no affliction or ailment. there'll be no sorrow, no sin. Jhn 14:2 In my Father's homestead are many mansions: if [it were] no longer [so], i might want to have advised you. i pass to practice an area for you. Jhn 14:3 And if i pass and practice an area for you, i will come back, and receive you unto myself; that the position i'm, [there] ye might want to correctly be also. 1Cr 2:9 yet because it really is written, Eye hath no longer considered, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the middle of guy, the failings which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Our Lord would have never given us the story of the prodigal son is it was hypocritical to return to Him after a time of wandering into sin all alone. He never leaves or forsakes us we at times turn our backs on Him. He is always there to celebrate our return... Jim

I don't know about the 'honorable' part, but I do believe it's a very big part of being human. I don't consider it hypocritical, just human.

I'm not sure if the reason you left was to 'test' God or if you are asking a hypothetical question here. Whatever the case may be, I think we all go through dry spells in our faith walk with Him. Who was it who said, "I believe Lord, help me in my unbelief."

No. Another biblical tect that comes to mind is just man fall 7 times(Proverbs 24:16). Well, in order to fall 7 times did the person have to get up several times also, and apparently 'goof'/fall also?

It’s not a sin to stumble and fall.
We all do from time to time.

The sin would be to remain lying down.
It’s great that you got back up.

Blessings to you.
