It would be wonderful if more humans would be like you and I: wishing for tolerance and acceptance rather than violent methods that only fuel separation. Sadly, the world simply doesn't work that way. Personally I'd say they are not regarded humanely because those in power cannot relate to them at the same human level. Many feel they are superior and simply sending peasants to the front line, and those soldiers have been psychologically driven towards a pro-war group mentality that disassociates them with the reality of being harm against another sentient being. I call for a cease fire as well.

I was a soldier for 9 years, In the UK you join because you want to.

If you do not believe killing can stop killing then maybe you believe that the holocaust did not happen?

Who is going to exact this revenge?

Remember British soldiers Join of their own free will, but still a cease fire would be good if it could last

in general soldiers. who are not in a traditional type war eg ww2.are in a country where they are not invited and not wanted. therefore human nature being what it is will act in a hostile way.just imagine if an uninvited muslim army was here, i've a good idea how the brits would react.they would be treated as legitimate targets

Enemy infantrymen are objectives throughout attempt against. So what do you think of--infantrymen in opposing armies shouldn't shoot one yet another? So while did pals and kinfolk start to retaliate? Did the families of German infantrymen seek for revenge against the allies after WWII? Did the pals of NV infantrymen hijack airplanes and kill hundreds of harmless American civilians after Vietnam? Oh wait, you're speaking relating to the loopy extremists, are not you?

Soldiers are legitimate targets because we don't want wars to carry into civilian areas. It's not that we want them to be fired upon, it's that we DON'T want anyone else to be.

Soldiers are trained to receive incoming fire and return it. Let them do their jobs.

The distiction is a legal one. Killing a non legitimate target is technically murder.

Legitimate targets instead of civilians. You are right, we should never have war again. But the leaders never learn, do they?

Soldiers volunteer to kill their fellow human beings-when they do that they must accept the risk of they themselves being killed.
