Can't we reinvent the gods and make them suit our own political agendas?

I'm joking screw politics, but we could really just make up completely new beliefs from the older (and newer) 'faiths' since there is really not enough evidence to prove any religious mythology to be real or fake?

If you would rewrite a creation myth what would you add to it to make it more diverse and to explain all the human cultures and animals’ species (also dinosaurs), you can choose any of the creation stories (there’s a ton)...

There are so many overlaps between the Israel of the New testament and Iraq:

1. Occupation by a super power.
2. Insurgents conducting a guerilla war.
3. Innocents with messages of faith being sacrificed to theological war.
4. A puppet government that grovels before both the occupiers and its own clergy.

I could go on, but you should have the idea by now.

He is obviously exponentially smarter than all of us and he knows about science better than all of us as well. Are you going to say you know more about evolution than he did? Or about the cosmos? Or about the big bang? If he concluded with his vast knowledge that God exists, and he knows far more than us about science, isn't it only logical to agree?
This question isn't directed toward anyone, I just think its a decent argument. What do you think?

What are your thoughts on the simple Buddhist teachings?
The first five precepts:
1. To refrain from taking life. (i.e. non-violence towards sentient life forms)
2. To refrain from taking that which is not given (i.e. not committing theft).
3. To refrain from sensual misconduct (abstinence from immoral sexual behavior).
4. To refrain from lying. (i.e. speaking truth always)
5. To refrain from intoxicants which lead to loss of mindfulness (refrain from using drugs or alcohol.)
Do any of the other religions teach this? Personally, I think these 5 precepts are what we should all try to live by. The other teachings of Buddhism take humbleness farther.

Twice As Sweet

On Valentines Day, we show our love;
We express our deep affections.
Those who are important to us
Get cards and sweet confections.

But Christian love is not just for
The ones we hold most dear;
Jesus said "love everyone;"
He made that very clear.

For Christians, it is every day
We should care and love and serve
Everyone we meet in life,
Whether they do or don’t deserve.

Let’s follow Jesus’ good command
To love everyone we meet.
Valentine’s Day every day
Will make life twice as sweet.

By Joanna Fuchs

Valentine is coming soon. Im not being desperate. I dont want to be lonely either, i need the Lord to fill me up. The Lord beautifully showed me the above poem.

What is the message in the poem? What is your opinion? How effectively does the poet communicate the message?

To me, i just learned what God wants of us in love. The poet stresses that we ought to love 365 days a year at 24/7.

Exactly, what do you read in this question? Share with me.

Have a nice day.

I'm not a Christian, but Christians I know often try to convince me that I should believe the Bible, and I ask them why should I when they don't? When they say they believe every word of it, I ask them about Matthew 5:31-32 where Jesus calls remarriage after divorce "adultery." None of them has an answer, and oddly enough, nearly all the adult Christians I know are remarried after divorce. Why do they point to sin in others and excuse their own disobedience?

Muslims believe in:
- his existence.
- his prophethood (regarded as one of the greatest 5 prophets).
- Virgin birth.
- holiness of his mother.
- miracles.
- decibels
- ascent alive to heaven
- return before judgment day
- ruling of the earth and killing the anti-Christ.

Muslims don't believe in:
- his death and resurrection
- universal message.

-----------------

Bible says:

1Jo 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1Jo 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is from God,
1Jo 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.
