to the first poster the key word in my question is INSTEAD

to the second
People look up my other question about sacrifice, many people who answered said that the blood of jesus is what replaced the need to sacrifice animals since blood is what cleans sin.

This was a mercy from God according to scriputre. In addition the bible teaches that the blood of those animals never could really do the job and even they were just foreshadowing of that which had real meaning .

I believe you should have listened to the first responder. He was answering albeit brief the reason.

God, for his own reasons, requires a blood sacrifice for atonement. Every other sacrifice is one of obedience or cleansing. It is not our place to question God's reasoning.

However, I will give a human reason. The first consequence of sin was nakedness. Notice that God covers them in furs. They had to come from somewhere and the easy answer was the death of an animal (most think sheep and thus sheep has always been a good sin offering). The animal covers their sin and it cost blood to get it. Thus, it is through blood that sin is atoned for.

Also, you will notice that with Cain and Able it was Abel's sacrifice that was pleasing to God. One could argue it was because it was blood. But, maybe it was because Cain did not give of his first fruits and only gave God "some" of his crops. Maybe if Cain had given the first and best of his crops it might have been different.

Either way it is a mute point as your second responder answered well saying that Jesus blood was the final blood sacrifice and no more need be shed as they are inadequate. Not to mention the temple is no more and any other sacrificing would be tantamount to blasphemy.

i beleieve it had to do with the persons occupation as to what his sacrifice was.a farmer who raised animals would be required to give the very best of his firstborns a farmer who raised only vegetables and fruits would be expected to give the very best of his harvest as well. all pointing to the perfect sacrifice of JESUS GODS only begotten son and our saviour.

Who said blood removes sin? The only thing I recall is that we were saved by the blood of Christ.
