There are so many overlaps between the Israel of the New testament and Iraq:

1. Occupation by a super power.
2. Insurgents conducting a guerilla war.
3. Innocents with messages of faith being sacrificed to theological war.
4. A puppet government that grovels before both the occupiers and its own clergy.

I could go on, but you should have the idea by now.

To make it a bit clearer to some. We, of the United States, are the Romans. And, Like the Romans, not as mentors, but as militant occupiers for strategic reasons.

Oh C'mon people: What If this thing holds true to the pattern? A religion came out of Israel that destroyed the established religion of Rome and it's empire. It's not a prophesy. The resemblance cannot be denied. The only look into a possible future is in this paragraph.

BTW, one set of innocents were Buddhists who were doing medical and food distribution.

You'll find those similarities all over the place.

Consider this instead. When the U.S. invaded Iraq, it had a Christian fundamentalist as Commander in Chief, a Pentacostal preacher as Attorney General, and right-wing fundies and evangelicals in the rest of the posts. It was part of Bush's criteria for who he would work with. The administration routinely checks with apocalyptic Christians to make sure that their plans and actions in Israel are in keeping with Rapture-inducing 'prophecies'.

Reread Revelations etc, understanding that Bablyon is Iraq. It's enough to make you wonder if the utter lack of an exit strategy wasn't actually an utter lack of competence.

1. The U.S. is a super power, but we are not occupying Iraq.
(Your first failure to recognize reality.)
2. The insurgents are not conducting the war, they're sabotaging the people of Iraq.
(Your second misunderstanding of what's happening in Iraq.)
3. Who are the innocents and what are the messages of faith?
(You completely left that one unidentified.)
4. I've seen many puppets and none have been elected by thousands of people going to the voting places, risking their lives to have their own leaders elected. I haven't seen any clergy being elected. And, for your information, the occupiers are the people of Iraq--it is their Country, they should be the occupiers.
(Sorry, but you missed on this point, also.)

And you really shouldn't GO ON, until you have studied the facts of the matter.

the Bible also stated that that Iraq would attack and pillage Kuwait. and that Kuwait must cry for help from the country that is divided by three rivers and has borders without any fences! Now what country do you suppose that would be eh Cliffy? god bless

that's the beauty of the bible. you can apply it anytime in history because human nature is consistent throughout history. so if you think the events in iraq are prophesied by that holy book, well, good for you to have something to be excited about. hehehe....

We are living in a world wide Babylon now and are captive to the royalty/financial/military powers. Like the Israelites in captivity in the first Babylon we must obey our captors as it is the will of God that we be so cruely importuned by their barbarity.

The Israelites disobeyed God and that is how they came to be in captivity in Babylon.
