Since I joined, I have to think before spelling it. Yahoo answerers misspell it 10% of the time as opposed to 5% of Googlers. Curious, indeed.

I know how to spell it but I sure do see it spelt athiest a lot.
I forgive theists for their poor spelling because I know they're a bunch of ignorant cretins.

Well if you break it down.....a-the-ist you will get it. Remember the "ist". It can't be "est" because of how it is pronounced. Say it first. Most people misspell it as an insult. I think it makes them look worse though. If all else fails, use the spell check.

Not really...I split it up into parts... A-the-ist ...thats how I remember how to spell it properly. Basically all I have to do is think.. "ist" to remember that e comes before i in the word A-the-ist.
LOL funny the person above said the exact same thing! while I was writing this..weird!

i spell atheist a lot and have no trouble with it. Y r u having issues with spelling it... it makes no sense
