Isn't that a little like giving money to your Dad for his birthday? Give god something you made with your own 2 hands - it'll mean so much more.

Well, it took some thinking to answer this question but..... I would say first pray about it, before bed tell god that this box of apples is for him and you would like to know where he would like you to drop them off. Sleep on it...then I am sure you will think about some place like an orphanige, or food bank, or a place where there has been a recent desaster and this is where you should leave them for god to do with them as he pleases.
I hope this answer helps, I'm not a real religious person, but I believe that each of us has some of god in us, therefore we do for others in doing gods work.
