It's the sacrfice that Jesus paid on the cross for our sins, that saved us from the "Old" Law of Moses. Now that doesn't mean that we ae not subject to those laws. They are still very much in affect.

If you think its dumb than no you are not saved from your sin. But those who are in Jesus are saved from the penalty of breaking gods law that He gave us through Moses. It was kindness on Gods part to give us His law that we might know our sin and danger and flee to Jesus.
