Now, I am not one to comment here on the validity of evolution/creationism (though if it makes anyone feel any better, I believe that God does exist, and that he brought about life through evolution), but why are the fervent defenders of evolution so dogmatic? I mean, science is about encouraging debate and it's about not accepting a theory (in the scientific, not colloquial sense of the term) blindly-- not that I am saying that evolution is a blind theory. The fact that people are trying to put evolution on some sort of scale where it is beyond the reach of questioning is ludicrous, it is dogmatic, and it is in fact against the nature of science. Good day!

If they are alive then they can pray for us. If the dead people are asleep in their graves then why bother being a Christian and if they are in their graves while Jesus is alive in Heaven they can not be of the body of Christ can they? And dont say that the people in Heaven are not aware of what goes on on Earth because Scripture says all of Heaven will rejoice if even one sinner turns from his ways and repents.

Now already it can be considered a cult: you have a central figure in it (the DJ, MC); you have various means of changing the state of mind (often use of drugs, loud, low pitched repeating sounds); ceremony (dancing, light effects) and all for the sake of feeling the spirit of unity and worshiping (where worshiping would be directed to technocraty and, in a way, science - the drugs are often synthetic, the sound and the light are very often electronic and, partially, mechanic, the central figure acts as a contact between the worshipers and their goal). Since all of this (a central figure, changing the state of mind and ceremony) can be found, with the exact same purpose, in many early, and even contemporary cults, and since we know that a cult can develope into a religion, or become a part of some religion, do you think this could happen to techno (culture)? Also, would you agree that right now, it is a cult?

Should a women stay with a man who is an alcoholic. I know God says pray on it, but what if praying is only getting you ready for what you are about to do. How can you divorce someone you still love, but at the same time, how can you love someone who mistreats you because of the drinking? Surely, God doesn't expect you to live in misery forever. Til death do us apart. I need some answers, I am about to fall apart....

Theistic evolution is the line of thought that believes that Darwinism does not contradict the bible. People that follow that doctrine, believes that the symbolism in the bible should not be taken literally and that the teachings contained on that book should be interpreted. They believed that God is behind the creation of everything, but that the origin of the world didn’t necessarily happened the exact way it was described in the Genesis. They believe that the scriptures should be respected, and that they were written under divine influence, but that intelligent individuals should take into consideration that they were written thousands of years ago, by tribes who did not really understand the world around them.

What do YOU think? Please DO NOT post links to websites. I want to hear YOUR impressions about the subject.

I am in taekwondo with several friends. We also go to church together and were wanting to put the two together and make a sweatshirt. We were trying to come up with a name like "Kickin' For Christ" or something and have a scripture to go along with it. We were just brainstorming, do you have any ideas for names OR verses?

I always thought that if you are female and are apostolic, then you mustn't
-cut/trim your hair
-paint your nails/get them done
-wear jeans
-wear shorts
-wear makeup

..but i know someone who goes tanning and has gotten her nails done..and she is clearly apostolic..

just curious..

my mother brought me to a deaf mass (the priest would talk and sign) and the priest said a story about how god asked the jews a question. i dont remember it word for word but heres my best. the question was something like, "and where will you go now? will you go down the river and worship the gods of (named a civilization), to (some other civilization) and worship their gods, or will you worship me, your lord and savior? maybe i forgot a part of it but this seems to me that god never said there is only him. and the first of the ten commandments says "thou shalt not worship anyother god but me" doesnt this leave a bit of room for other gods as well or is it up for interpretation? and if there are no other dieties then why is god also called a jealous god? what would he have to be jealous about if there were no other gods? please correct me if im wrong but i dont think it ever says anything about there being only one god in existance in the bible at all.

people give people really stupid answers (not just online) when they ask about Christ. They put answers down and they don't have a clue what they're talking about and they don't have any experience of being a christian, why can't they at least be respectful and answer nicely or don't answer at all!! I wanna know what you think!

I think religion has done just a little bit of good here and there.

By and large, however, I think the burden of proof will always be on those who justify religion, and believe that it has done more good than harm to our world.
