Now, I am not one to comment here on the validity of evolution/creationism (though if it makes anyone feel any better, I believe that God does exist, and that he brought about life through evolution), but why are the fervent defenders of evolution so dogmatic? I mean, science is about encouraging debate and it's about not accepting a theory (in the scientific, not colloquial sense of the term) blindly-- not that I am saying that evolution is a blind theory. The fact that people are trying to put evolution on some sort of scale where it is beyond the reach of questioning is ludicrous, it is dogmatic, and it is in fact against the nature of science. Good day!

There is plenty of valid debate on the subject among knowledgeable scientists. However, having a scientific debate with someone who doesn't have a rudimentary understanding of the most elementary scientific concepts (such as what a scientific theory is) is absurd.

I would venture to say that Intelligent Design is more dogmatic than Evolution, it may just seem like Evolution is [more] dogmatic because it is the more popular/accepted theory. By the way, I agree with you on your theory. I also think that evolution is possible and at the same time, god exists and "guides the process along." I don't think the complexity/beauty of nature could happen without a god. I think that the possibility that evolution is true just displays how powerful god is.

well, i definitely think it is dogmatic.......it's ridiculous how everything came about by chance.just look at the complexity of a cell and it's organelles.no one human is able to create or make a replica of that.anyways evolutionists believes that all of us a developed from a "Simple" cell. What nonsense is that?. everyone one knows that within a few days the cell would die off.so there must be a creator up there somewhere,right?-i'm a 15 year old girl

You're absolutely right. A new discovery made at any time could change the views on evoltuion/creationism,so there are actually no absolute absolutes in science.

I thought it was a stick-shift!

People are typically dogmatic about their opinions.

I think evolution as a proven fact is about as proven as " O.J. did it".

I really liked the phrasing of your question, it gives me hope.

Has anyone ever told you that you complain too much? Try asking a question, next time!
